qfg2 new adventure

I've thought of this for years and I always thought it was a neat idea. Takes place in rasier before QFG2 and instead of being our favorite hero as always you play as someone who was born in rasier and became one of of the guards. But as Ad Avis takes control you get more sick and disgusted with wha...

Re: ** HOLY HINT BOOKS! COURSE 5 HAS APPEARED! **

dang it indeed. I kept thinking there were only 5 courses til the game came out. Oh well 6 isn't that bad. All I gotta say is the saurus music when you exit the gate better be the same. I loved that music. Oh and those screen shots look neat.

Re: ** COURSE 4 IS IN...SESSION. DAMN THIEVES! **

I find that the level of thread-locking tends to increase in direct proportion with the number of newbies posting who can't accept a simple answer when it's given the first time. If you wish to speak of maturity, then a very good place to start would be by learning how to 'turn the other cheek' and...

Re: QFG1 Bug - highly annoying, but not impossible to play with

I always thought qfg1vga was a little buggy. I remember sometimes when Bruno tried to kill you it run through the loop of him throwing the dagger twice before the dagger would hit. Plus Yorick spazzing out at you and keep throwing junk even if you told who you were. Of course the second was without ...

Re: How do you improve Intelligence and luck

I thought you could raise Intelligence by asking a lot of questions to everyone you could to know your environment. Cause in QFG1 you didn't get the Communication Stat but there has to be some stat benefit to talking to people. That might not be true but it made the most sense to me . I didn't know ...

Re: ** COURSE 3 IN SESSION : AGDI REDESIGN/QFG2 LAUNCH thread **

Those pictures look awesome! It looks like alot of effort and time went into them. I still can't believe your managing to do QFG2 in AGS. I'm trying to use it just for little projects for practice and I'm having trouble getting it right. QFG2 must have been one mammoth scripting challenge.

fighting rakeesh

I wouldn't consider this a bug, more of a typo, but in the original qfg2 if you fought rakeesh on day sixteen in the guild after the battle,he'd say you were very good with your sword, even if you were just using a dagger (wizard, thief). If they originally wanted just the fighter to have the duel w...

Re: Surprise (two of them, actually)

I'm not holding my breath for them to make a whole other game as a surprise. Maybe they add a couple of neat features to qfg2... but I doubt they'll do what they did for kq2 and make a voice pack for a later edition. That'd take forever.....

there are no updates because the devteam can't stop playing qfg2 , it's so much fun It's about as much fun as watching a good movie...600 times in a row. http://www.agdinteractive.com/forum/images/avatars/moodpics/Nashmean.jpg Hahaha... Re: The QFG2 VGA Main Page

Also, I'd like to know why you guys decided to go with the point and click version of QFG2? I really saw KQ5 as the downfall to the quest games. I just think that removing the text parsor turns the game into a series of pointing and clicking all over the screen and clicking all the items together i...

It's just as well. I got creeped out by the rats pulling your sheets, bugs would just make it worse.

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

In other words, the genre didn't die, it just never have been? In 95 you could have asked those same people about other games, and I bet they would have given you the same answer... or can you give me the stats to support that statement. :rollin I don't know about stats... or was that part of the j...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

Yes. Financial. Quicker to make 3D-shooters and racing games... just use the old code and add any new development. Change to new looking weapons and cars. If the adventure genre was dead, what would you say is the reason that this genre and RPG genres are pirated and copied more than the other no-b...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

I don't think this is a problem you can easily solve. I still think most big companies as greedy jerks who just care about profits. That may not be true but it comes off that way alot. If a hundred people stop stealing a major game and go out and buy it, I can't see company saying "Oh the got t...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

I just don't like paying money for games with commercials in them. It's sorta insulting to me. It's bad enough they seem to be doing that more on dvd movies too.If I'm paying good money for a product, I don't want it riddled with ads that waste my time like commercials on a tv. I understand they wan...

Re: How much would you pay for a Sierra Adventure Game Nowadays?

I was like 6 years old when I first played Hero's Quest (which I later found out was QFG) I managed to get a few out adventure games from Babbage's and Electronic Boutique. But this was before the internet and I only knew about a few games. By 1998 I found out there were all these classic adventure ...

I meant saying "Katrina". The game doesn't even recognize that word. But that wouldn't make sense because Katrina is portrayed as a servant girl who knows some magic. Although you could say Zara so I wondered how skilled you had to be to be a sponsor? But who would know to type in Katrina'...

That would sorta ruin the surprise of who she is in QFG4. I remember trying that in QFG2EGA just for giggles and of  course there was no clue who she was in WIT. I just have to wonder how far back they planned her character. I know she was cloaked in QFG3 and mentioned in the intro by Ad Avis. But w...

Ads in games always pissed me off. It makes the the software companies seem like they'll do what ever they can for more money. I never understood the "people are pirating the game, so let's raise the price of it". Yes there's a chance you could cover your losses, but you could also steer p...

I think it's only a matter of time before some kind of reform happens to bit-torrent in the same way that it happened to Napster. It seems like a growing problem that the sleeping giants aren't going to ignore forever. I think the difference is with Napster, you only had one product you could use a...

I thought the parser on qfg2 was pretty good. There were times I needed a walkthrough but it wasn't because I put the commands in wrong. The two games I can think where I had real problems with the parser were KQ3 and LSL2 at the end when you had to put the bag in bottle.

After fixing more "phantom bugs" than I ever hoped to, bugs that were caused by visiting a room by warping there, having an item you shouldn't have at that point or having played around with the time warp debug option, my opinion is a big fat "no". There's a big difference betwe...
