I've always thought it would be more interesting to accelerate time a bit and put the hero into a much different setting, lets say into a gunpowder age. Each character would have to develop in such a manner that he would still need old skills but would have to adapt to incorporate new skills in ord...

It's very much true that writing does take quite a bit of time, effort, and mental energy but let's not be too critical, some people get an idea for a book, a film script, or whatever while doing some of the most random things. It takes more than one idea to develop a good game or novel, but it all...

Did it reset after having beaten Khaveen or didn't you notice until after importing it into QFG3? It occurred in game, I made a couple of quick attempts while fighting Ad Avis to check. It never bothered me too much, it wasn't as if raising skill levels on QG3 was a hard task... except for "s...

Funny how many "little" things I've still missed on these games. I've had the disk version for a long time... but I haven't had a 3 1/2 disk drive for years. I just always assumed the one on the CD was exactly the same.

Does that only happen on the disk version? or did it ever happen to you on the Anthology version?

Congrats also.

I actually joined the forums well after downloading and playing the KQ1 & KQ2 remakes. I just wanted to say, because I haven't yet, that I was very impressed and very much enjoyed the remake.

Can't wait for QG2!

I didn't even realize the first game was released for Sega. I thought that was only unique to KQ5.

Actually one thing I'm curious about is will the two 50-point bonus you can wish for at the end of the game stay with the character? One thing that used to drive me nuts on the EGA version was giving that bonus (lets say strength) and after fighting Khaveen, it goes back down to 200 and I don't noti...

I am a little surprised (unless I wasn't looking hard enough) that this site didn't announce that stage of development.

I have no reservation playing games that I bought ten or fifteen years ago. I play newer games here and there but I just enjoy my classics too and they never seem to get old. Old maid and proud :D

It's nice to know how far the progress is, but a demo too early is going to spoil me.

I've personally never felt unsatisfied with the WIT sequence at all. It got really short once I knew what I was doing, that's about it. It has all the magic users you've encountered thus far as an option, even ones only eluded to, and a couple thrown in for the heck of it. I don't think it would b...

I actually periodically enable the pc speaker for the first three QfG games, it's got some nostalgia for me; especially the introduction to Wages of War ;)

Don't get me wrong, while I had some disappointments with Dragon Fire, I still loved it. I think it's still the only game I've pre-ordered. I thought the pseudo 3D world was great, the music by Chance Thomas was great, the animated spell/item inventory was interesting, I loved seeing so many retur...

KQ5 was for rich kids back then. Only rich people had VGA monitors and sound cards with stereos. Oh ya, lol, well, I did have the monitor then... but the soundcard was out of reach them. I still remember playing quest for glory and kings quest with those beautiful sounds that came out of the pc sp...

I think one of the most amazing things about QFG is that all these errors, when Sierra didn't correct them as the game aged--the fans did. I tend to sell QG5 short because I had had really high hopes for it during the long wait after QG4. The combat system bothered me (or rather the absence of one)...

I started this as a question to a question I started Why do people keep bringing up KQ5? It was a great game, but, the desert sequence was only part of a few puzzles. If you hate desert screens so much, you probably shouldn't be playing QFG2. And if you keep bringing up KQ5, you should go play it. ...

There was something interesting Marc Hudgins brought up on a forum on myspace about QFG IV: "The trouble with QfG IV was that we had the game done and then had to port it to the new SCI32 interpreter before we shipped. Systems guys said it would take 2 weeks -it took 3 months and never really...

Ya, there really was quite a bit of variety in the battle system. The main problem I had with it was the depending on what I was playing the game with, my stamina recovered way to fast. As a Paladin I never needed to rest, all I had to do was fight, regain my stamina, and then heal.

QFG 2 - I agree with OP about the time issues. The worst part was waiting for night to fall in Raseir. QFG 4 - Bugs, obviously, but not much else. IMO the combat system was rather weak. I actually didn't have a problem with the time issues in QFG 2; the game included an option to accelerate t...
