video in AGS?

Hey just out of curiousity [well, curiosity at this point], can video be used as animations instead of sprites [ie: have the character be like in Gabriel Knights 2 or Phantasmagoria, as opposed to the QG games]? I realize that would be way rough, as you'd have to track down costumes, take into consi...

and let's not forget that around 3400 BC was when the last remnants of liontaurs went extinct, so there's not plausible reason why Rakeesh should be running around in QG2, 3, and 5. ;) Hehe just kidding guys, but serious, you're going to give yourself an ulcer trying to figure this stuff out...when ...

the reason adventure games are 'dying'?

To be honest, I think this is one of the huge reasons adventure games are not being revived [easily]: 3d cards are one of the centerpeices of any 'gaming' rig, and rightly so -- practically every new release screams for a powerful card. Enter the adventure game...that has no need [and thus gets appl...

"The Good 'ol Days"

I know the group has received more praise than they likely care for, but I really must throw some more at them. ;) This was an excellent game to play through. As a huge compliment, I can say that while there are a few highly regarded 'new' games I'm playing through, this is the only one that had me ...

I assume it's not the speakers, as it also occurs if I have headphones plugged in, so with that I assume it's either the soundcard or wires crossing or something. I'll try and check the wires soon ... takes me a while to work up the courage to deal with that swamp of a mess! ;) In the mean-time, if ...

I'll gladly try to think of other options (actual rippers, etc.), but it's a bit hard since I don't have the game. If you can give me a list of the files, I might be able to find something. Thank you for your willingness to help! Thankfully, it didn't have to come down to the re-route/record option...

qg5

Yeah seriously...QG5 has the most amazing score of any game I've ever played [and that emcompasses quite a multitude!]. Thanks to you guys for pointing me in the direciton of the GAP extraction utility...now I can happily say that I have a lot of my favorite game soundtracks to listen to -- woo hoo!...

the trick:

Whoops...I left out the catch -- the track I'm talking about isn't on the soundtrack cd...I'm wanting to get that song from the GAME cd....so that's why I was asking if there were extraction methods.

at no cost to you but at cost to us. You can trust that we are working very hard on this game and that the longer development time means that you will be getting a better game when it does release. Out of curiosity...what IS your approximate expenses creating this game so far? The King's Quest rema...

QG5 - music extraction?

Hey I don't think this goes against forum rules or anything...I apologize if it does... ...anyway, I have the QG5 soundtrack, and while it's nice...there's a particular musical tune that plays when you visit katrina & are robbing the bank...I love the tune & am curious if there is a way to e...

Re: Your favorite elements from each QfG game?

QG1 is was all-around special, in that it defined the series and what it was about, but I think pretty much every aspect was improved upon in at least one of the games. QG2 is my favorite...its expansiveness -- especially the differences in each character calss, sets it apart in my opinion. The sett...

work

Yeah it really is crazy how much work goes into something that 'seems' so simple. I took a c++ class in undergrad and dang...that was rough stuff. Even with AGS taking making things a bit more automated, I'm sure it's super-tedious putting in all the scripting time. Cool to know how to do, but not v...
