Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

My God in heaven, I was just trying to make a sensible remark in response to Erpy's comments, which as usual were clear and concise. I was trying to draw a picture about the differences between IA and AGDI 5 years ago and explain why people may have acted the way they did. I'm comfortable with AGDI'...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

In the end, though I guess it can't be denied that probably at some level there is healthy competition between the design teams, I would think everyone here has a common love of adventure games and would want to see as many different successful adventure game design teams as possible. For what it's...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

Got to be honest, I've known about this one since we were producing our version so probably 5 years now! And I must admit that I am really looking forward to it. At a quick glance I'd say that AGDI's KQ3 will piss all over IA's, but hey, as AGD2 said, it's more fair to compare AGDI's KQ1 with IA's K...

Re: The Greatest Quest Ever Told!

Growers, Floaters or Sinkers. I figured that was the best and most IA way to describe whether it improved with the recent playthrough or whether it is better in your memory.

The Greatest Quest Ever Told!

Hey AGDI'ers! There's a competition going on at Infamous Adventures to determine the number 1 Sierra Adventure game of all time. All the info and the competition is over at IA's forums. Join in, the more people who participate the better and more accurate the results will be! And it's heaps more fun...

I've always thought QFI would have a more "Betrayal at Krondor" / RPG style combat to it. Maybe that was just me though.

Quest for Glory Formula

I've got my nephew playing Quest for Glory, because he's been staying with me and my wife for a few days and he's driving me insane with those stupid games on his X-Box. My god they are just rubbish (except for Justice League, that was pretty good). Anyway, I decided he should do something that woul...

Re: New Himalaya Game: Postcards from Anozira

I think it's a top game, and if my opinion holds any weight, I'd encourage people to buy it. Not because you're supporting a group or a company (because that's just stupid, who'd buy a Microsoft product just because it's from Microsoft...) but because it's a bloody good little game and a bucket load...

Re: Why is writing so bad these days?

I spent the first minutes staring at huge walls of text with intrincate stories, names and made-up mythology as if I had to study a history lesson, with hollow and bland characters that didn't sound natural at all. I completely agree DrJones. It's what we call "verbal masturbation" over a...

Happy Birthday mate! Hope it's a great one and your 30's are a great decade. The biggest thing I noticed about my 30's was the arrival of a gray hair or two. Some people have mentioned to me that I only got gray hairs after I met my now wife. So read into that what you will.... :rollin

Re: Hex Codes for Sierra and LucasArts games?

I'm not sure about hex codes, but there's in built debug modes in most early Sierra games that allow you to gain inventory, teleport etc. The only one I can remember, and it could possibly work on other AGI games, is <ALT> <D> to enable debug mode, then "TP" and a room number to teleport i...

Re: Miss you!

I don't think he meant "kid" in a derogatory sense, man. I really think he was just saying it seems like you're a young adult (like most of us) and that you've got plenty of years in front of you. I think, honestly, he called you kid as shorthand for your handle "Solarkid". I'm ...

Re: American Girl Scouts? Thoughts on AGS community sites

To be honest, I have had some help at AGS. But I've also seen some major abuse and insulting of people for asking basic questions from some of the regulars over there.

Re: American Girl Scouts? Thoughts on AGS community sites

Welcome to the AGS community. It's a strange place where it's best not to ask questions.

In my experience, I just ask anything I really need to here at AGDI, you'll get an answer and it'll actually be a good answer, not an insult.

Both sites are hosted on different servers, if my memory is correct. I would assume that either there's an overhaul going on of the website, or it's expired and they forgot to pay the bill!

Re: Starting another QfG fangame, better late then never

Although, if I can get a single game out, I bet new artists and programmers would love to jump on board for sequels. Creating a hit freeware game probably looks great on a resume. You'd think that. It's doesn't happen though. There is no way I'd ever consider making a QFG style game. I mean, that's...

I don't consider that interview embarrassing at all. I think it delivers a great insight into Scott's mind and worldview. Cris did an amazing job in that interview and it's the most "real" interview I've seen in this community.

Don't apologise. Never apologise for flirting with a good looking girl. So she's married, just means you're not the only one who thinks she's nice.
