Re: What is your favourite Space Quest game?

I've only ever played SQ1 (the concept just didn't appeal to me). Might try it again, since I'm currently in a retro gaming mood.

Re: The Gamers Thread: PS3, PC, Wii, 360... pick your poison!!

What a long thread! Well, let's put in my own two cents. I started as a pc gamer. My first game was the original Prince of Persia. My first adventure game was "Monkey Island", thus ensuring this as my favorite game genre. I stopped play pc games around the time GTA 3 came out: I just could...

"Longest Journey" help! looking for a Dutch v. save of ch.7?

I have a problem which you as adventure game fans might be able to help me with. Some time ago I got my hands on a copy of "The Longest Journey" (the first game, not "Dreamfall"). I played it up until chapter 7: a deep blue mirror. Then my hard drive crashed. And I lost my saved ...

Re: Some thoughts on the combat system (SPOILERS)

I still have trouble doing the backflip, but I love the sound effects :lol

I haven't pulled off the skull splitter or rising slash yet. And I didn't bother with the Uhura training anymore to try them after my stats reached 200, so I doubt I'll ever will.

Re: Minor door bug

I think you should be aware you'll probably get many bug reports from people still playing v1.0, which you might have solved for v1.1. I downloaded v1.0 the same day it was released. I'm now on day 15. I would've downloaded v1.1 while I was on day 11, but fortunately I noticed save games aren't tran...

You'd expect a saurus repair shop to be a bit closer to the saurus lot. Perhaps the conveyor belts run all the way underground. Would be a weak spot for invading enemies.

Re: Erpy, is there a Blue Frog Mode ???

This topic reminds me so much of all the discussions about whether or not some easter eggs were real in GTA:San Andreas, like Bigfoot or that chainsaw serial killer. Easter eggs in games are fun - I like 'm best when you just happen upon them without having done anything special. Like the images of ...

Sure, I do admire it and if he ever finishes it I'm right there in line to play it! What he's done so far looks great. And as he states on the page, he's only making it for himself.

I remember a huge discussion about the plane scenes in a previous attempt to remake it. I wonder how he'll handle it.

Re: Police Quest 2

There have been several attempts over the years to remake this game. I've been looking for it ever since I discovered people are actually remaking old games like this one. I often replay the PQ series and 2 always feels awkward (though not less fun!) It would be nice to see it remade in the same VGA...

Re: Please make easy combat patch !!!

Following my ghoul- and some jackalmen-fights, I've reached the following conclusion. The new battle system is hard when you start out, because your character's stats are too low to take full advantage of its possibilities. The longer you train, the higher your stats get and the more familiar you ge...

Okay, found the repair shop (of course it was in the very last alley I had to search). Picked up the pizza box, bought a decorative pot. No other merchants seem to sell anything. I've also had two chats with Shema and Shameen before they close up. I'll go looking for that city brigand next. You have...

Re: Trouble accepting aziza's tea

I had the same problem figuring this out, but I found it by pure chance luckily. It's logical from a certain point of view, of course, but when you're used to adventure games where the talk function covers both things when clicking on another character, and the only experience you have clicking the ...

For me it's more of a puzzle solving thing. When I see a solution to a puzzle, I don't stop to think, "Wait a minute, that's not something my character class would do - there must be another way." I'm an adventure game player, so when I see a way to solve a puzzle and move on with the stor...

Re: Importing characters from Quest for Glory 1 VGA?

I played a new QfG1-vga game as a fighter, but added magic points and lockpicking to the character. Which was kinda stupid, because a fighter doesn't come equipped with a lockpick. Should've gone for stealth instead. Anyway, I imported the character into QfG2-vga, finally added the extra points for ...

Excellent remake, I've only played the original versions of QFG 1 & 2, now I'll probably play the whole series. This game is a longtime favorite, though I must admit the fighting in this remake is a lot harder than in the original.
