Re: The Silver Lining Lives!

I don't think that either. But, as you pointed out some negative points of KQ5, I think the KQ fanbase largely consists of people who really like King's Quest 5. No high focus on graphics (though KQ5 surely was impressive for it's time, I never felt improvement was needed from that point on: it mere...

Re: The Silver Lining Lives!

I'm surprised that there is so much negative talk about the game. You guys have to remember that this is a fan game and it was made with no budget and released for free. I think they've done an excellent job for what they had to work with. I'll admit that some areas seem a bit rough, but overall th...

Re: The Silver Lining Lives!

This was highly enjoyable. Spoilers ahead. Graphics look awesome, I really like it. Gameplay; very great. Much better than true 3D for point & click, like GK3. So far so good! The aim for a 'darker' tone is also a succes to some extend, even though I wonder if it could have been done without so ...

Re: King's Quest VII Soundtrack (SC-55) in mp3!

Chapter III; this is where the music is getting really interesting. Can you say "baroque meets neo-renaissance?" It's the word pisspump hundred times in a row, only better. I guess we have the backdrop of the tragic peacefulness of the Bountiful Woods and the hysterical Fifi le Yip Yap to ...

No, I was planning to upload half of it, just to leave you wanting more. Jk, I'm glad somebody likes it. Even though the sorting is detrimental for my psychological health, the recording is a wholesome business. I think I'll take requests after I finish this project.

PS: long time no see, Vil ;)

Here's the music for Chapter 2. Don't you just love them heavy trolls? Prepare for brass inspired, heavy and dull themes fitting the trolls just fine. Re: King's Quest VII Soundtrack (SC-55) in mp3!

There's a lot of files in here that are unused. Some sound like early experiments, others like overdone elaborations. These are among the files close to chapter one, but I may encounter more later; Desert main theme: alternate http://www.sendspace.com/file/3jnpqh Desert main theme: alternate II http...

Re: King's Quest VII Soundtrack (SC-55)

Thanks! I recorded them from SCI Viewer. Set up is Computer 1 > USB-MIDI cable > SC-55 > Line > Computer 2. SCI Viewer, of course, has the disadvantage of hours of searching in a huge mess of files for the right themes. Anybody who is interested in the list I'm constructing, send me a pm. So far, I'...

King's Quest VII Soundtrack (SC-55) in mp3!

For those of you interested, I started recording the KQVII General Midi soundtrack through my brand new ol'd Roland SC-55. Started with chapter I! Here's some early results in mp3 format. the Desert theme; http://www.sendspace.com/file/q1rkfu the Cave; http://www.sendspace.com/file/y0myce the Scorpi...

Upload here doesn't seem to work for me either. Pb, if you're still interested, I can give you my set of icons as well. Gimme your mail adress, I'll send m to you.
Btw; if you're under windows, you can use bmps instead of ICO as well.

Reminds me of those Sierra card games where you could pick different characters from different games. The VGA one with Laura, Pepper, Adam & Willy in it was my favourite for sure.

Re: Gaming's Science Fiction Heroes (Swedish Magazine Artwork)

I would have preferred the classic mysterious version of Samus instead of the bimbo, but oh, well. Isn't that a sexist comment? :eek I'm just teasing you, considering a discussion in another thread. ;) Please leave your limited understandings of the world in the incorrect thread, where they belong....

Oh, I'm actually talking about the 7th Guest, the 11th Hour & King's Quest 7. I cannot find complete soundtracks as recorded through the SC-55 of those games anywhere.

Re: Buying Roland MT-32 Sound Module

These things are hard work. I thought I would just be extracting music from organised libraries, and then recording it while I was playing it. :rollin Complicating matters; - Organised libraries, there are none - A lot of sequences that sound like one song, are actually multiple sequences scattered ...

Yeah, I remember the Prime ending very well, very stylish.
I never played II thouroughly, but 'Japanese popstar' IS a fitting description. :rollin

After I saw it in Fusion, I prefer helmet on. The graphic from the magazine is actually very nice.
