My 486 is fried unfortunately.  Even back then, the 486 did give me problems with the swamp, yes.  I tried everything, gliding, jumping, use acrobatics, but could not get past that error.  Anyway, I'm quite happy with DOSBox and the NRS patches (from the link Kloreep provided).

Ok seriously now, a cape could be useful for keeping warm in a cold climate.  Thinking outside of the QFG world, Graham found a cloak, somewhat similar to a cape, very useful in KQ5.  I can't remember the name of the monster now but he has to travel through ice and snow to get there. In an area wher...

Yikes!   :eek

You won't need a dazzle or calm spell, for the monsters will have tears in their eyes and won't be able to see you.

Hi there, I have both the disk version and the CD version - I primarily play the DOS version from the CD.  I use DOSBox to play it and have found that DOSBox in combination with having the NewRisingSun patches work best on my current machine.  I'm able to play through without running into any errors...

I voted for OTHER.  My vote would be for QFG4... and the reason is because it was such a pain in the butt to get it working and get through all of the program bugs (which now can be compensated for by using the NRS patches/timer fixes).  However back before I was aware those existed, before I had in...

I voted for Ad Avis, but I would say that the Demon Lord would be close behind.  Both of them are pretty close to pure evil.

Well, I would hope that if used as toilet paper, the hero would either cut the soiled part of the cape off afterwards, or at least hurry to a stream so it would be washed out.  Unless of couse you would like to be the hero known as "Skidmark, who scares away monsters with his stinky cape".

I would say no.  It just does not seem practical to me... can't see any advantage to wearing a cape, only disadvantages such as an enemy grabbing hold of it and pulling the hero to the ground.  Or pulling it over the hero's face so he/she cannot see, etc.

I voted for QFG1VGA.  It feels the smoothest and seems fairest, yet still challenging.   I might have voted for QFG2EGA if you had included that.  I like it because it is different in that you can attack or defend high, mid level or low.  Defending is somewhat challenging in combat and also in pract...

I'm 28, from Ontario, Canada.

My first Sierra game was Hero's Quest, for the Amiga 2000.  As I'm sure most of us already know, Sierra later changed the name to Quest for Glory I.

QFG4
QFG1EGA
QFG1VGA
QFG5
QFG2
QFG3

I used to not like QFG5 much at all... but lately it's been more appealing.  QFG2 may move up that list a bit when the AGDI version comes out.   ;)

Finally, who actually created that piece?  Quest Studios has Chris Brayman credited (maybe they both worked on it). On the QuestStudios website, they currently have the soundtrack for QFG2EGA (by Sierra).  That is why you see Chris Brayman credited. The QFG2VGA soundtrack has not yet been released....

The first one I played was Hero's Quest (later renamed Quest for Glory 1).  This was back when the game first came out, so it was the EGA version.

I would say that probably my favourite is QFG4, but I did enjoy, and still do enjoy QFG1EGA very much.   :)

I say "A few weeks or days before the definite release".  No sense in getting everyone fired up about a game when at any time something can go wrong.  Software in general ends up being delayed... better not to set expectations too high and then have to let them down.
