Taking into consideration the site we're on, I would suggest listing free adventure games.
Here are quite few.

we got a poster who called us unprofessional and immoral liars because we weren't done when we said we'd be done. We still get similar posts daily because we've yet to release the patch and the voice pack And you changed your policy because you agreed with them?  Don't you think that even if you ne...

" NEVER ?"  Be serious.  What if the game was completed but the team was waiting for one more server to host it on?  And really, don't you think people complaining about a release date being moved back reflects more on the people childishly whining than on the hard-working team, especially...

Considering ChaosBurnFlame's second post, I think he wants to show only the game itself (not anyone playing it), for which MusicallyInspired's solution seems ideal.  (And until today, I didn't know DOSBox could do that.  Thanks MI!)

Also, why not show off the AGDI's preview video?

And delay the release even more?  Are you kidding?!   ;)
Seriously though, it's thousands of lines of text.  It wouldn't be a small project.

I agree with some of that but it seems that games are regularly announced at least a year before they are expected to be completed (much the same as movies).  As I posted in another thread, Googling for game "release dates" will result in dates up to the 3rd quarter of 2008.

... With this in mind, there is no way for anyone to expect any sort of release date to be announced Not sure what you meant by this.  Professional game companies provide release dates for games and they have the exact same problems you described.  In fact, a quick Google search shows some estimate...

Quest for Glory II - Release Date

In the past, there have been game release dates which were not met.  It seems to have become AGDI policy to not announce release dates until a time very close to completion. Despite this, it may be a good idea to at least announce rough or estimated release dates to indicate a goal.  This way, even ...

If I use 20 saves per character, that's 60 for all three.

So... why not just make it 100?  If people are concerned about disk space, they can always move/burn/erase old saves or simply limit the number of saves they make.  I've never been a fan of programs purposefully limiting users' options.

I literally got chills in the first few seconds.  The trailer is awesome.  Though I wasn't really worried about it, any doubt I may have had of the game doing the original justice has been swept away.  It's only a question of how far beyond it will go to outdo it. We get our first glimpse (I think) ...

Thanks for that update navynuke04.  And I know it varies and one bug could take the effort of five bugs to wipe out but just for fun... how many bugs are there on the list?  25?  50?  100? And Paladinlover, you may not have considered that presidents of gaming companies know that buggy games hurt sa...

there is no possible way to give an exact date for release of any game, program, or any product at all unless the company or individuals making it are making the finishing touches, and by that time it would be pretty obvious that its finished. Here is another fact that needs mentioning. Never ever ...

It's a tough call between 5 and 6 so I'll break it down: I liked the look of 5 better than 6 The music is probably a tie 6 had multiple paths and endings Graham is less of a wuss than Alexander 5 had a better villain Hmm.  It's still pretty close. 6 didn't have Cedric Oh yeah.  6 is the clear winner...

Last week, when the AGDs promised me, in a personal private message, that the multiplayer option of the Quest for Glory 2 remake will support up to 32 players at once, I was happy.  But then I realised that considering the already existing delays, this might push back the June 2006 release date furt...

It is in beta testing now... Actually, no it isn't. Whoops.  My mistake.  But except for the bug hunt the graphics/music/sounds/coding are done, right?  I thought I read somewhere that it's complete except for the bug list.  (And of course, it makes perfect sense to not give beta testers bugs you a...

Silly people.  As I understand it, QfG2 is a background project.  That means that life, work, family come first.  If there's more work then there's less time for the development of QfG2.  Even if the game was ready for release tomorrow, if something came up then the game would be released later.  Ve...

AGC2, I take it you meant early 90s.  Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Online , it looks like most remakes were released then (QfG remake: 1991, SQ remake: 1990, etc.).  Of course, back then, they also only used MIDIs so I guess you do make exceptions to the charm and development time rules. ...

AGDs, I'm curious: if you were to decide to make another free game, what resolution and color depth would it be designed in?  If you're not planning on advancing from 320x200x256, why not? And, with my first post on this board, let me also thank you for the great work you've done for the enjoyment o...
