An unorthodox way to resolve the QFG 3 points problem
One of the biggest things that bugged me and bugged most everyone else (seriously, I've heard a ton of complaints over the years about the inability to get a perfect score in QFG 3), and that is either due to bad programming or there are some hidden tasks that are so well hidden that they're simply ...

Quest for glory 5 savegame editors?
There used to be a website that had all sorts of neat QFG 5 savegame editors, one of which of interest to me was the one that allowed inventory editing. I had it on my PC for many years until a certain crash last year wrecked everything I had. I lost all it and other QFG 5 savegame editors as well. ...

Re: Thanks for KQ 1 and 2 -- any chance of QfG 1?
QFG 1 VGA was one of the last remakes that Sierra churned out in the early 90's and it shows in its quality. The graphics are great and usage of claymation monsters and certain characters was great. The only thing I wish they did was fix (some very few and minor) bugs. Notably the dagger problem. In...

The magic game rewards.
Hi guys. I'm playing through the series again, and I'm in QFG 2 as a wizard (first time as a dedicated wizard), and I played the cloud game with Keapon. First, kudos for making such a challenging and creative game, Magic Maze from QFG 1 has NOTHING on this! But as I played through and finally won fo...

Completed my first ever full VGA playthrough
Even though QFG 2 VGA has been released in the August 2008, and I did play through it at least twice during following two months. I didn't actually get to playing a full fledged playthrough in years. In Jan 2010, I started the playthrough, but once I got to QFG 2, the only flaw in the entire game (V...

Re: Experience Points
Actually I should mention that, at least for QFG 1 VGA, there was a use for Experience Points. The emergence of trolls at night along with cheetaurs and saurus rexs in the day time was triggered when you had experience over a certain level. This was a major discovery for me since I normally wanted t...

Trophies?
Hey everyone. I've been playing through QFG 2 again on my first full QFG playthrough this year, and I've just discovered that you can take the ghoul's skull as a trophy. I figured out just now that you give it you Uhura (originally I thought it was for Harik), but I haven't waited a day or two to se...

Re: QFG3
You mention that you are not in the business of remaking Sierra VGA games.. however, has your team considered organizing a 'plus' remake of Quest For Glory 3, similar to what you accomplished for King's Quest 2? The game itself has an unfinished quality-- a whole aspect of Tarna left unexplored, on...

You can't have ANY Sierra-style game without their trademark humor!I just hope that the game is as funny as the cartoon , can't have a QFG game without humor (or humour)
Seriously, I love the character design, the backgrounds, it's all good stuff. Go for it!

Re: AGDI mentioned in GameTrailers!
You guys can't honestly believe that the budget was actually $700,000 in 1984. That is very obviously a mistake. Perhaps they mistakenly added an extra zero. But, since they did not bother citing their sources, it's hard to know where they got that figure. In the official "Making of KQ6" ...

Speaking of which, any notes on putting QFG 5 on Vista or Win 7? (Let's face it, Microsoft is back to their old self of releasing a new windows version every 2 or 3 years. We're gonna need to upgrade more often).

It's been quite some time, but I finally got back to looking at this thread, and I gotta admit, I'm still interesting in modding SCI01 and SCI1 games. Anyways, I do have some questions. Never fear! I did an article with a link to the source code for SCI Studio VGA! http://www.linux.com/community/blo...

Re: QFG6 Anyone?
Truth be told, I'm not too fond of the sandbox principle myself. I guess the "go anywhere you want, do anything you want"-principle appeals to some people, but I actually like some linearity in a game...it gives me more the impression I'm actually going somewhere. And thief quests are a l...

Re: QFG6 Anyone?
Hero6 has been around for over 10 years now. In all honesty, I sorta figured it might never get completed. Also there's nothing really wrong with 3D graphics. The big problem is not with the graphics themselves, but during the early days of 3D games, the technology was very primitive and far from pe...

I had Brian's latest release at one point, but it didn't seem to work. At any rate, thanks for the help, I'll look for that other program. :) Edit: I managed to get SCI graphics studio, and I'm sad to say, but I never quite got it to work. I've never been able to open any of the games with it. Oh we...

Re: Future Agdi Games.....
They should concentrate on more commercial games. Three remakes of that caliber are enough. Seriously, especially with QFG 2 taking over 7 years (the single most ambitious project I've ever seen thus far!), I think they'd want to lay the remakes to rest. Anyways, I haven't been here in a while, what...

Any program to edit VGA SCI games with?
Hey everyone. Several years ago (around 2003 to be precise), someone on the forum introduced me to SCI studio, a program that could open, and superficially modify the game, usually the views, the backgrounds and the text. It could only open SCI0 games but Brian, the guy who made the thing, later gav...

Re: Thank You all, true Sierra fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I too am a HUGE Sierra fan. I recall when KQ6 was the newest in the series. Sierra was offering anyone finishing the game a special award, providing you sent them a savegame disk showing your final status in KQ6. I received a real surprise, a photo of Ken and Roberta and in the 90's, you can imagin...

Dude, that painting with Brauggi and the Hero is absolutely breathtaking! Very well done indeed. I also loved the Rusulka sketch, too. Question: In the original QFG 2, you could bargain him down to 5 dinars... how do you do this in the remake? Seriously, the guy's lines and the whole situation was simply too hilarious to have gotten rid of it.

There, it's all fodder for the imagination and for FanFic writing.
