Re: Mage's Initiation: Reign of the Elements

Chris,
However, we have very cool parallax scrolling foregrounds in nearly every game screen for this title.
Is this where the different portions of the screen scroll at different speed?

Re: Earthquake in New Zealand

It's certainly still making headlines here in Australia.

Of course, New Zealand is like our slightly slow cousin so it's kinda in the family.

Just glad you're alright mate.

Re: Hey, It's That Voice!

Josh Mandel was an obvious choice for Graham. However, his microphone produced such loud background noise, that after 5 attempts he had to end up getting his lines done in a proper recording studio. The things Josh does to entertain his fans! :D Gotta say this, Josh Mandel is a fantastic guy and do...

Re: Future Remake: Part Deux

The only thing QFG1 could have is more of the same. More quests, more stuff to kill. More places to explore. MORE!

Re: Future Remake: Part Duex

KQ4 - Well, you've made the first three. Enough said.

Camelot - Just a brilliant game and no other reason I chose it other than AGDI would do a kickass version.

Iceman - A great first half and a boring second half. I think AGDI could KQ2+ this one and make an average game into a brilliant game.

Re: the game looks fantastic

I just realised the reason adventure games aren't as popular as they once were. People have lost the ability to think through a problem, they just log on the net and check out a solution.

Re: Telltale to Reboot King's Quest

Unfortunately for AGDI, Telltale do 3D which I reakon is something Activision would want. 2D is awesome and I love it, but we limit our audience straight away by not doing 3D.

Re: KQ3 Redux Articles

OK, so answer 2 begs a follow-up: how far were they along when they announced KQ3? Would they have made 4 instead? Just curious. We (IA) were far enough along that we weren't going to cancel ours either. When we announced our version of KQ3 we had the game completely scripted, with all the backgrou...

Re: Original KQ3 Worst/Best Parts (SPOILERS)

In the original, the ship's appearance was triggered by visiting the oracle, so it was possible to get on there without having done any of the spells and without having disposed of the wizard. I don't think it was possible to make it all the way across the ocean without being zapped though. http://...

Re: LateBlt's Let's Play QfG on Youtube

Personally, I'd say any game specifically commissioned beforehand by the IP owner is official while any fan-game given a license after start of the project is not. In truth the definition is probably far more sketchy and stretchy. (and personal) Fans will be eager to argue over whether certain expa...

Because AGDI is licensed, does that make their remakes "official" too?

Re: What makes a game replayable?

I've had contests with my brother, playing on two computers next to each other to get the full 504 points in QFG1 EGA. We speed play it with the same character build. It's fun and I'm the current winner holding at about an hour and a quarter.

Re: Online Community Philosophy (Split Thread)

As the co-chief honcho at IA it falls to me to end this rubbish. This is the last post I'm making in this thread, because I just want to go back to making my games and not worrying about all this bullshit. I had a whole post written where I defended IA, made all my points and basically was pretty da...

Re: Online Community Philosophy (Split Thread)

Very true Chris. I think what AGDI learned very early on was not to rise to the bait of obvious envy or simple tall-poppy cutting. To sift the wheat from the chaff so to speak, find what's good in people's opinions and what was irrelevant. I know when our KQ3 was released we had a lot of praise whic...

Re: Online Community Philosophy (Split Thread)

I think the common misconception about IA is that people don't really believe we just love our little hobby and that's really all that drives us. We're not out to change the world, or people's opinions about anything. Heck, if you prefer AGDI's or even the original KQ3 more than ours, great! Glad yo...

Re: Online Community Philosophy (Split Thread)

Our relationship in the beginning was stressed, but I think both groups have found a way to co-exist and to respect the other. The community as a whole is better because of it. For me, it was coming to the realisation that AGDI would never be as liberal as IA and it wasn't in anyone's interest for ...
