I was answering your question - fan art is not illegal unless it's sold for profit. So if the artist who drew the above article created it for a Swedish magazine, I'm sure he didn't get sued.

Correct. Editorial usage as on the web for articles, in print for an article about the history of games, etc. is fair use.

Once you place a value (monetary) on an artwork, you are violating trademark and rights-usage laws. And, with a collage like this... you're breaking ten or more licensees! Ouch!!
