Wow. I didn't even think about that before. The hero's name is So! That's why the first game asks if he wants to be a hero.Quest For Glory Fan wrote:not until you tell me if anyone has ever filed a lawsuit against fire.

Re: Tales of Monkey Island Series!
It would have been nice to have as an option, like for a puzzle branch. And perhaps applied to something else, like Insult-Gambling. Agreed that it gets long but if it was any shorter (with less reply options), it would be too easy to find the correct response, I think.

Re: The name "Wages of War"
Wages (Recompense) of War would mean that the hero was trying to make money from war. But during the game he's trying to stop war, not create it. If anything, it would be Payments of Peace. I think the meaning is direct, like the other subtitles in the series (though the first one was meant to be fu...

Re: Cheating in your games -- is it ok?
Regarding the demo play feature, I think most people (including me) will be tempted to use it more often than they would cheat without it. Just like if you have the hintbook, or a walkthrough printout with you as you're playing, you're less likely to take the time to think things out instead of simp...

Re: Cheating in your games -- is it ok?
I cheat on a level when I've tried something a few times and I can't beat it, or if I've already beat the entire game. I did that once on a Warcraft III level where you had 30 minutes or so to defend something and then you got swarmed. But now that I think about it, I would like to give that level a...

Yeah, but I think the most creative thing Sierra had was looking up symbols in manuals. Although... having users register, mailing them a manual, and then having them look up some symbols to activate their account could work too.

Seeing another one pop up just a few minutes ago, I wonder how hard it would be to detect that someone recently registered and that their first post (or two or three) contains selected words (and especially links) which are frowned on. I don't know how flexible phpBB is, or if it's open source and c...

You so owe yourself a playthrough. Grim Fandango had a great, creative story and just piles and piles of style. Great music. Engaging characters. Just overflowed awesome all around.

Re: Adventure-Game Studio...Best choice?
Lambonius, consider looking into GraphicsGale . It not only does pixel editing (without antialiasing) but it also supports layers and animation . I found it very easy to use. The free version does everything you'd need. Also, Photoshop does pixel editing too, without antialiasing. But instead of the...

Take a look at AGP's remake screenshot: http://66.160.166.159/QG1Screen.jpg Are you guys honestly saying that the background doesn't trigger nostalgia for you because the resolution is too high? Were you disappointed that AGDI didn't use MIDI or that they included videos in introductions? Also, El E...

I just tried downloading from here: http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/kq2 ... nload.html and it started downloading a 321MB file. Maybe one of the mirrors is screwy. I'd try again. Or try this direct link to one of the mirrors.

Re: Quest for Glory and King's Quest fan art
That's actually something I've always noticed about undead in most mythologies (both real and fictional). They typically have no choice but to obey their inherently "evil" nature. In the end, being undead means you're worse than dead since you're forced to exist with no choice, no free wi...
