Just got the results of my Mensa test today - my IQ is 135 or above, using a standard deviation of 15. That puts my score at or above the 99th percentile.

I've also been informed that I got 45 correct answers out of 45 possible, so it's quite possible that it's higher than that.

Europe *is* expensive, and Denmark even more so.

As a comparison:
Your book costs me 23.25 USD, including shipping. That's 142.347 DKK when converted.
If I were to go down to the local music store and pick up a brand new audio CD, I'd have to pay 149.95 DKK - that's 24.4918 USD.

The Cliffs of Logic are purely copy protection, with little to no thinking required. For the fourth "puzzle", the manual tells you which element, color, etc. to look for. From there, it's purely looking those things up in the list of symbols, as the meaning of those are given there.

I'm not sure what your problem is - is your computer refusing to read your CD? In that case, the disc may be damaged. Try using a different CD-drive, as some drives are more fault-tolerant than others. Alternatively, borrow a working CD from someone. If you just want to know what files ScummVM requi...

Make a good search query for it on eBay and add it to your favorite searches. You can then have them e-mail you whenever a new item matches that query, so you know when something comes up - they'll do this for up to 365 days, after which you can always renew it. I'd be VERY surprised if it doesn't a...

I'm pretty sure Vista has NO support for 16bit applications and below which means NO DOS SUPPORT!! As I understand it, the 64-bit versions of XP are like this, while the 32-bit versions still contain the 16-subsystem emulator. I imagine it'll be the same with Vista, ultimately ending with 16-bit be...

I've gotta go with the bottom one as well. The left tomb looks way better in that one.

And, as a side note, it provided a helpful reminder that I've gotta get around to calibrating the gamma on my desktop computer, since it's more or less COMPLETELY black there. :lol

One of my favourite adventure games is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This is a purely text game, so it isn't the graphics that impressed me. The plot was nothing to write home about, so that isn't what got to me either. What I remember is things such as getting the babel fish, and escaping ...

Out of curiosity (I don't yet know if I'll apply), is any experience with the original QfG2 required? Or would it be preferable not to have any at all, since you might then be more likely to try something unexpected?

The copyrights are with Vivendi. Sierra made 4 games in the series (Castle of Dr. Brain, Island of Dr. Brain, The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain and The Time Warp of Dr. Brain), and at some point after Sierra was sold, Knowledge Adventure, part of Vivendi, released 3 other games in the series. I once read you need the CD in the drive, but I don't know if it helps when everything is copied, as you say it is (I presume it was also installed from the harddrive).

You might also be able to modify the resource.win file to point to your hard drive, if you haven't already done that.

It's true that you can do many things through the registry, including starting programs or modifying behavior, but nothing should impact shutting down your computer. Even if there was something like that, it might be very hard to find. (Unfortunately, it's not as simple as "modifying a line&quo...

I pay just about US $77 for a 2048/512 DSL with no bandwidth limits. Prices vary, though, competing ISPs will often offer DSL with lower upstream quite cheaply - however, only one other ISP is cheaper with this particular speed, and only by ~$2.50 a month. Not worth making a fuss about, since the sa...

Maybe, but the story DID say the squirrles fled when the three men who witnessed it drew closer. Hence, they're still afraid of us, and we've got nothing to fear. (Yet. :p)

Y'know, this kinda forms a nice triangle. Squirrels are afraid of humans (so they're afrad of me). I'm afraid of dogs. And now, dogs have a reason to be afraid of squirrels.

Nevertheless, that's a pretty insane story. Hunger or no hunger, managing to kill a dog is quite an effort for a squirrel.

Just because something's in the root of the drive doesn't necessarily mean it has any impact in such a case. It's more likely that something's hidden in your Windows folder. Go to http://merijn.org/ and get HijackThis. Make a log and post it in a specialized tech forum or here, if you want me to loo...

That's exactly why - multiple sites may be hosted at that server, and it will have no way of knowing where you're trying to go just based on the IP.

You can workaround the problem by adding the following lines to your HOSTS file: 70.84.212.66 adventure-eu.com 70.84.212.66 www.adventure-eu.com Where this file is found depends on your OS - for Windows XP, it's in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC. The file is plain text, so you can just use Notepad....
