That's because he's using the EGA Arthur blurred as a stand-in at the moment. I'm sure he'll switch to an original one soon.

I'm actually surprised that site's still around. The last update it had before that 2006 one was in, like, 2002 or 2001.

I'm just joking around, PL (hence the :p ). Obviously they wouldn't stop work on QFG2 since it's so close to completion. That would be ridiculous of them. We were all just joking about how they should stop QFG2's production now and work on other stuff and so I thought I'd be the counter on that.

I am, but can they please finish QFG2 first? I mean, it's about as buggy as QFG4 was right now. That means they're almost done. :p Plus, once it's done, that means AGDI's finally fulfilled the original mission statement. They got together to remake KQ1, do Royal Quest, remake KQ2, and remake QFG2. T...

Plus, it showed Devon having to use Reversal to avoid being turned into a Saurus, which is never a concern in QFG2, unless you sucked a blue frog to get a sword and killed Khaveen. What are you talking about? If you're a wizard, you cast Reversal to deflect Ad Avis' saurus spell, which then hits Kh...

You CAN do something. You can buy the games. They're freely available. I still see them in GameStops.

The thing is that if you downloaded those games for free you WOULD be a pirate. Unlike the AGDI and IA remakes, which aren't the original games and were done for free, the original KQ's 1-3 and the KQ's 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 were done by Sierra Entertainment and were made available for sale, complete wi...

I assume you mean IA's KQ3 Voice pack. If you just click on the link on this page then you'll download it right away. I don't see any new windows opening or anything.

That used to happen to me all the time as a Wizard. In fact, I don't really remember a time in which I didn't get the Heal ability from importing. It's just one of the fun adventures of QFG4. :rollin

I made a 90, and yeah, that points question was ridiculous, especially when compared to the real ease of all the other ones. I only had to pause a moment on the QFG5 name question. The rest were like, "durr," until the crazy "how many points" question.

This is really sad, but as some have said it also really can't be helped. The thing about bureaucracy is that it takes a VERY long time, especially when you want to get something done that's pretty much unheard of. While I'm quite confident that we haven't seen the last of this, I'm sure that it wil...

I don't know what people mean when they say "money was never a problem in QFG2." I sure as hell had trouble keeping my shirt on in 1 AND 2! Centimes were completely useless currency, for one thing, and golds were only worth 10 silver so that was no good. It wasn't until the Common was used...

Well, I think that's the general point/fun of having a fanboy discussion, arguing the fine points of what was most probably a simple design choice into a speculative continuity. I mean, this is a world that's seen the publication of the blueprints to the Enterprise D and the Millennium Falcon, after...

Progress is process, and for game-making it is loooonnng, especially with this one. Take heart in knowing that once it IS released it will be a brilliant masterpiece of gaming.

I vote this thread as the best thread ever. By the way, I'm looking for someone to help me on a fangame. I need artists and animators and music guys and voice actors and writers. I have good idea for a game where this guy has to get a taco from a Mexican Hat Dance festival. It's called "Nacho Q...

Hey now. I'm not so sure this guy should get points deducted for calling us old maids. I mean, in the gaming sense, that's what we are. We sit here and fondle games that came out when we were little kids (the "ideal" era) and act quite high and mighty about it. "Oh, you play some of t...

Old builds are grosser than anything you could imagine. Half the time, they've got placeholder AGI graphics or sketches for backgrounds. The other half of the time, they're fatally crashing on you. Truthfully, both of these things happen about once every 3 steps.

Not really. The only difference between storytelling in Aristotle's day (which was mostly based on plays and not books, though the principles are the same) and storytelling in a game is that you have to put in puzzles and/or combat to move the action along. The typical storyarc works the same. Like ...

I always thought it was just easier to keep calling them floppies. It's essentially a removable disk, same as the 5.25", so I figured someone down the line decided to call 'em all floppies. Either that, or the tech geeks wanted to keep everyone else out of the know by confusing them senseless. ...

Either way, my point remains the same. Acting is done with the full body involved. If the body isn't there, the mind won't follow. Therefore, it's best to have it done that way as much as possible. Having a nobody or a stunt man or somebody in the motion capture suit (in the case of "The Hulk&q...

That's because they actually have actors in the motion-capture suits. Andy Serkis actually PLAYED Gollum as well as voiced him. The same with King Kong. That's the only way to do it, IMO.

Story is a tricky customer. If you'd like some good books on writing stories for games, I'd check out "Screenplay" by Syd Field and "Writing for Comics with Peter David" by Peter David. Yes, they're both for different media, but comic books/movies/tv formats for storytelling are ...
