Alliance, even a low-resolution remake it a great step. Because it means that the creator has already taken care of all the progamming related issues in AGS (or whatever engine), and got any plot extensions working properly before investing all the time in drawing high resolution screens (since the ...

Being a professional programmer, I can certainly sympathesise with the whole "weird errors after upgrading to a new version" - I have *so* been there. Anyway, I agree with anathoth8 - the earlier games were created when you were Tierra, and as long as the most popular websites update their...

Remember that the games themselves also say they're by "Tierra Entertainment", so unless AGDI decide to do a special release just to change the name in the introduction, changing the team information in AGSForums may just cause more confusion than it solves

The merchent has something the mermaid might be interested in. Trouble is, he'll only trade it for something expensive, like a pearl. If you search the beaches hard enough, you'll find one

Unfortunately, he thinks a talking pumpkin is too valuable to give up, so you won't be able to talk him into giving it up. You'll need to find a way to distract him so you can grab it - you got a hint when you first walked into town

It may not be the server, but rather the browser. I vaguely remember a bug in IE at one stage that could result in corrupt file downloads. A quick web search reveals, amongst many, support.microsoft.com/?kbid=3...

Re: Not that

That's all right. The one in the church is also related to the tiara quest. If you've made it into the castle and met with the count, then you should concentrate on the library bookshelf for help. A lot of people who don't have English as their first language have found it difficult, so if you have ...

Re: Cemetery

There are actually two different cemetaries in the game, so it's a little hard to be sure which one you mean. I'll presume you mean the one next to the count's castle - there are two things you can do here: one is requested of you by Possum, the other involves the quest to find a tiara for the count...

Re: Trident, Grandma's House...HELP!

There isn't a basket in the mailbox in the remake, so stop worrying about it. As for the trident, it's a major subquest once you have to complete once you go under the ocean - if you've got a specific question about getting it, it may be helpful to provide more information on where exactly you're up...

It occurs to me that by having pre-rendered night scenes, you can add the little extras to make it more believable, such as stars in the sky.

A possible solution

One minor problem I noticed with this puzzle is that you need to be careful about the hotspot when you click an item on the snake - get it slightly wrong, and it will give you a "doesn't work" message (it presumes you're clicking the item on the ground), even if you are in fact using the r...

It's likely the "clicking the bowl on yourself" that most people find confusing. It stumped me for a short bit, and I've played through just about all of Sierra's "clickies". As someone mentioned a while ago, it might make things easier on people if there was a "manipulate&q...

Getting out of the cave

Did you explore the area before you dropped into the hole - there's more than one screen available? If yes, think like Alice in Wonderland. As for the lumberjack and his wife - they could make good use of the magic bowl you found. Finally, the note in the witch's cottage gives you a hint on guessing...
