There is an issue with KQ2 altering the global sound volume, which it really shouldn't. Apparently the next version of Allegro (AGS's sound system) will fix this issue, so hopefully in a future version of the game this can be fixed.<br> <p></p><i></i>

Well, KQ2 takes exclusive access to the soundcard if it can get it, so you'll have to quit the game before using sound in another application.<br> <p></p><i></i>

So what happens, exactly? It plays the mirror video, then ends with Graham looking in the mirror, and is it that point where it locks up? You say the music continues - but does the screen just stop then with Graham looking into the mirror while the music carries on?<br> <p></p><i></i>

adventurer76: that's right, the bug was to do with script strings getting corrupted when a save game was restored. That could be the problem, since the launcher has control of the sound card and may not give it up in time for the game to run. Try using the "Play King's Quest 2 VGA" icon on the start menu in future, and let us know if the problem happens again when using that.<br> <p></p><i></i>

Deleting save games is now supported by the latest AGS, but since you can overwrite them anyway it's not too much of an issue.<br><br>As for changing directory, that's a good idea and I don't believe it's been suggested before. I'll look into it for future.<br> <p></p><i></i>

Have you been back into Setup and made the changes again that allowed you to hear the sound?<br><br>The AGS sound engine hasn't changed at all between patch 2 and 3, so recreating the settings that you had should do the trick. (What fixed it for you, by the way?). <p></p><i></i>

very strange, because there is physically no code in AGS to delete save games - all it can do is overwrite existing ones. You did definatley refresh the folder before looking for missing games, right? By default when a file is updated explorer moves it to the end of the list.<br><br>sorry if this al...

Have you tried the "Force alternate letterbox resolution" checkbox in Setup?<br><br>Failing that, I'm not really sure what to suggest. Make sure you have up to date graphics card drivers and DirectX version.<br>What operating system are you using?<br> <p></p><i></i>

Are you saying some save games just disappeared?<br><br>You said you moved some save games out of the folder... if you do this, you must move all or none.
