Re: Cracked.com: 6 pieces of Fan Art that are better....
You need a couple things. One of the following: SCI Decoder VGA, SCI Studio VGA, or SCI Resource Viewer to extract the proper Graham sprites. Then you need either SCI Graphic Studio, SCI Studio VGA, or SCI View256 Editor to actually edit them. The TEXT resources you can just extract and edit with SC...

Re: Cracked.com: 6 pieces of Fan Art that are better....
That would actually be playably possible (with the floppy version, anyway). You could just take the sprites for Graham out of the resource files, make them all transparent, and change Graham's text dialogue to blanks. Boom. KQ5 without Graham.

Re: What was the point? (pirate ship spoiler)
You aren't meant to smite their blight from the face of the earth or reform them in some way. You're just trying to escape. And the King's Quest games don't really condone violence as a habit. I guess the idea is that if you tried to escape without putting them to sleep they would catch you. Just go...

Re: Android?
KQ1VGA (and the rest of AGDI's remakes) use the AGS game engine, which resembles but is not the classic game interpreter(s) that Sierra used. AGS is not virtulaized under ScummVM as it is not one of the supported engines. Many are asking for it and the source is open so I suppose it's just a matter ...

Legit! For people who pledge at least $30 their names will be entered into a draw with a chance to win one of 3 vintage Sierra games! Even if you don't want them, these classics go for quite a pretty penny on eBay! Up your pledges! $25k and 26 hours to go! http://guysfromandromeda.com/win-classics-p...

$33,168 left now! 35 hours!
The Gary Owens interview was fantastic, by the way. Great stuff. He's a very nice guy. Had some cool stories to share.

Re: Two Guys From Andromeda are back!!
4 days left and they only need another $121k! Just a few more dollars from everyone will amp things up nicely. Then there's the apparent hike of pledges that will happen in the last couple days. It might just make it! We can do this!

There isn't any pathfinding in the prototypes so you'll have to behave as if it's an SCI0 game and click where you want him to walk in a perfect straight line, otherwise he'll walk into walls and not move.

Re: Soundtrack available?
Here. This is the original music pack that was used for the game itself. It's got all the music files in there. I don't have all the masters anymore so these aren't the highest quality, but they are listenable and should do for people who have been waiting a while. The special edition soundtrack is ...

GoG are usually good at repairing longstanding issues with the older games they release. Hopefully they nailed it down.

This pack also includes both the remake and original version of QFG1, unlike all the other Sierra collections on GoG and Steam.

At this point, no. I'm not involved with KOS. I've got a lot of other projects on my plate at the moment, Mage's Initiation being one. I just don't have time for projects like these anymore (free ones).

Re: can't record midi from game
No, Peter Rocker would have recorded the soundtrack with an exclusive sound library that is not General MIDI compatible. It would actually be more work to take his source files and dumb them down to be General MIDI compliant and rework the MIDI note data (velocities, panning, instrument patches, etc...

The soundtrack to IA's KQ3 was never MIDI. It was always digital.

Holy goodness. And they're making a new game. Not Space Quest, but a sci-fi adventure with the same style of comedy. I'm so flabbergasted!

The final tally:
$3,335,265 raised on Kickstarter from 87,138 backers with an extra $110,000 donated outside of Kickstarter bringing the total to:
$3,445,265
EDIT: Went up a bit.
$3,336,371 + $110,000 = $3,446,371

Re: Top 10 Weird Rules of Video Games
I find issue with #5. That's not always true. Certainly not in stat-based games. Stamina is a very big issue in a lot of games. And #1 isn't true in a lot of older FPS games.
