Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

Reprogramming an entire game from scratch just to fix a flaw or two is a huge and relatively fruitless undertaking for the ones developing it. It's not worth it. It's also a LOT more copyright infringing than a remake with an actual graphical, musical, interface overhaul. Actually, not really, sinc...

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

Makes sense. :) They can still make a small fortune selling a compilation of these documents, sketches etc. Perhaps they should get Eriq to do something like that with their work. :) But then, they did put that era behind them.

Edit: Yeah. Was my favourite QfG as well. Ok. No. After QfG2. :p

Re: A brief account of KQ3 Redux' history

Let's not start that discussion again. :) Although QfG3 is short, many people found it to be their favourite of the series. Point is, there's not enough reason to go into that much effort, especially not knowing what parts were cut from the game. For something like that, you'd have to motivate Activ...

Re: What makes a game replayable?

The EGA version of HQ/QfG1 is easy to play through quickly. A bit more difficult with the VGA version. Hmmm... wonder what the record would be with KQ3Redux. I doubt anyone could beat Erpy's time. :) Actually, some of the beta-testers could probably play the game with closed eyes, and the mouse tied...

Come on Lamby. If you read all the posts you'll see everyone's agreeing that although your styles and attitudes differ, there's a place for both types of communities. Leave it be. No point in continuing a pointless argument which really doesn't have an answer. Really not worth the effort...

Re: Sarien.net issued a C&D by Activision

That's better, but I always considered IA more like a Adams Family gathering. A bunch of weird and interesting characters... sometimes scary, but funny. Could be because I like Christina Ricci... don't know. And AGDI like mount Olympus. Everyone behaving nicely on the mount, but you don't know what ...

Yeah... you'll notice Eriq have a rather 'dark' approach to his work. :p Majority of his sites and graphic-works tend to have a black background. LOL! Look at his more recent work that even include black cats! ROFL! Just kidding. :) Actually glad all sites/forums ain't the same (not only graphical s...

Hmmm?

Am I understanding correctly? You want to view (and record) your TV on your PC?
The cables you've bought rather sound like ones which will allow you to work your computer on your TV.

For the other way around you'd need a TV card.

But I could be wrong. I'm not up to date with the newer tech.

Re: New Ken and Roberta Williams game?

The Williams' bowed out of adventure games around the time that 3D was becoming commonplace. That was the same time Sierra stopped being a pioneer and other developers took pole position in pushing the technical envelope instead. I love the story he told about Doom being offered to Sierra first, bu...
