AGDInteractive - Sierra Adventure Game Remakes Forum

Are there any plans to remake this game or did they already?

It's been remade into a VGA version by Siera in 1991.

AGDI won't remake any games that are already in VGA or that already have a VGA remake.

Hey 1eyedParrot you are not soppose to post freeware on these forums and that link is not freeware anyway I request this post be deleted . I see mutaple offences to the forum rules here.

I hate to say it, but things will probably get a little worse before they get better. We aren't acting on old posts, but are being more strict with the more recent stuff. As people do dumb things, they will be delt with.

I'm sorry that the people who are not causing trouble have to put up with it. Things are being taken care of though. Take heart.

Anything specific that's concerning you? And what do the AGS-forums have to do with all of this? That post kinda seems like a random vent, rather than something about the thread in particular. Do you have any idea what contents got deleted or did you just assume it was removed for a silly reason?

Erpy, I'm pretty sure he was referring to GuJiaXian and Draco62's posts in which they played "armchair moderator" and threatened to leave the boards forever, start a boycott petition, and tell their mommy because one guy posted an abandonware link when he wasn't supposed to. LucasFan doesn't agree with people who act like moderators and slam/flame someone who stepped out of line as opposed to letting the mods get to it when they see it. As an example, he was citing the AGS forums which he believes are rife with these kind of posts. Did you look and contemplate for a minute what he could've meant by that or did you just see that it was LucasFan and automatically believe he was trying to start something?

The link actually took you to a gay porn site. He had it masked to look like it would take you to an abandonware site. This is what Erpy meant when he asked if he knew what contents got removed.

I personally don't mind when people point out when rules have been broken. It makes things a bit easier to find, plus allows us to get a feel for what the community is thinking.

Actually, the reference was not to Parrot's link as the flaming comment, but to Cain's remark who told the people who were offended by that porn site that they should swallow some arsenic. (or some other, but similar venomous remark)

Both posts have been modded...both members (who already got banned once) got permanent "read-only" status on this board, and I stand behind that decision. Whether the people who are uninformed about the specifics of the situation agree with it or not.

From the looks of this thread it looks like they're overreacting to a minor breach in conduct that may or may not have been an accident. It would also be kind of the mods in their stricter approach to clearly state for the rest of us why things go down the way they do -- in such cases that you are not restricted by gag orders -- so as to not breed contempt in the membership. Dictatorial editing and deletion without apparent reason or sufficient explanation is what caused problems in the first place. Had I known that Parrot was linking to a porn site I would not have been so critical of GuJiaXian's and Draco's reactions, and most probably neither would LucasFan have. A well-informed membership is a happy membership. Had all been known, you would've had unanimous support behind the actions. Since it looks like y'all're being dictators again, that's not good. I advise more explanation whenever steps are taken.

Perhaps I did over react but it was simply to bring the attention of the moderatores. The site was rather offencive and I am not even religious. I am sorry to add more fule on the fire and acting inapropreate my self . Does anyone have a sujestion on how to frase a request to look into these things?  |I. And I have no intentions of leaving these forums just cause of one or two bad apples.

PM? Anyway, this thread has served it's purpose. The question has been answered, gay porn has been posted here, someone left because of it, two people were banned because of it.

Ok back to this thread...  I think 1eyedParrot probably has a sense of humour somewhat like mine, but just decided to cross the line between appropriate and inappropriate.  Whether he was going to post a link to abandonware, gay porn, or gay porn disguised as being abandonware (which 1eyedParrot probably thought was hilarious at the time of post), all three are inappropriate.  Just too bad 1eyedParrot did not think about the consequences before posting and really think it over.  "Is this a good idea?"
