VGA Remake...Remakes

I often see companies who refuse to do a remake of an already "VGA versions" of a classic games, and this leads me to one comment I would like to address. Most of the old VGA remakes will not play on the newer windows operating systems which do not require dos. Are there any "Dos Free" VGA remakes that were done for any of the early Kings Quest, Space Quest, and Police Quest games? (Besides KQ 1 and 2)  If someone knows how to solve this problem please let me know!

Someone will probably say it, so I'll jump in front: "Use DosBox"

Other than that, VU/Sierra will be rereleasing their old games soon (as in this month or next month) which will be playable in WinXP.

Sounds Good

:eek  :eek  :eek Were did you hear this? And how did this come about? I heard the Coles pressuring to get the rights or at least have their games re-released. Does anyone know were to look for more info. I am guessing this release will first happen in the US but what about the rest of the world? I live in Montreal Canada so things take time getting hear. Any info would be great thanks. :D

I'm not sure about remaking VGA games in VGA, but I'd love to see some remakes of VGA games in high resolution and 32 bit colour. It would take some amazing artists and a significant amount of extra time to do though.

Re-releasing the old games... very sweet! :D While I already have almost all the classic sierra games, and they all work just fine on Dosbox, I really don't think I'll be getting the XP compatables since I don't see much of a need for them.

But anyway, this is all good news. For all we know, this could spurr an interest in these games which in turn could lead to a sequel being made! :D

BTW, on a final note, I'd like to thank the AGDs for giving another update after all this time. It was very refreshing to hear what was going on, and the screenshot was very snappy, too. :)

Till next time stay cool  :smokin
