Vivendi have now finished their playthrough and we're currently awaiting them to send us their list containing the results. Also, they still have to review the legal disclaimer to see if that needs any updates or changes.
We were told that the person who reviewed the game at Vivendi was a big fan of the old adventures and was "very impressed" at the end product, which was great to hear!
Hopefully not too much longer now...

So what are the odds that Vivendi would try to buy the finished game from you for their release?

This is great news, AGD2. I can't wait to adventure in Shapier once more!Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Vivendi have now finished their playthrough and we're currently awaiting them to send us their list containing the results. I don't think very good, but don't be surprised if you see the compilation going back on sale soon...malekdarshin wrote:So what are the odds that Vivendi would try to buy the finished game from you for their release?
hmmm... if this should happen, I hope people jump in and buy. That may convince Vivendi that there is still life in this series.

Buy it from us? Heck, they could already take the thing and charge $50 for it if they wanted without ever being legally obliged to give us a cent.
I do hope that if this remake helps to increase the sales of Vivendi's collections this time, that they'll at least recognize it as something financially viable and give us some consideration for future projects.

I hope so, as well.Anonymous Game Creator 2 wrote:Buy it from us? Heck, they could already take the thing and charge $50 for it if they wanted without ever being legally obliged to give us a cent.

That said, my sense is that adventure games today are selling at a price-point of around $20-30 a game (see: "The Adventure Company" releases, which seems to be one of the only companies making adventure games anymore). The financial model of making games that can sell at the $50 price-point seems far more lucrative and attractive an option. Nevertheless, the cult following of nostalgic games like these should show that there is nevertheless great demand for remakes of these classics.
So, with regards to next steps -- once this Vivendi person, who has already played through the game, gives AGDI the thumbs up, distribution of the game can begin?

This is all terribly exciting! QFG 2 was far and away my favorite game years past, and I'm thrilled to see it reborn. I hope you folks recognize that your work is very much appreciated - so much so by me that I did not sign up for the beta because I did not have the time to dedicate to doing a great job. Now THAT's love.

I think everyone would love it if the game came out before the end of July. But keep in mind that unforeseeable circumstances can always pop up to prevent any sort of timely release. This close to the finish, I don't think anyone wants to tempt Murphy by giving a tentative release date which may then still be broken.
Hey I just registered just so I could say how excited I am for this game and how much I appreciate the hard work being put into it. I have always known about Quest for Glory 1 vga, but I never realized that there were any more until I was around 8 when my older brother bought the quest for glory collection (which we still have). I played QFG1 vga, but I just couldn't get into the text parser of QFG2. So I decided to look and see if maybe sierra had remade it, and I found this. I was around 13 at the time. Now I'm 17. Considering that I have been waiting for this game for about a quarter of my life, I think that says a lot. Thanks AGDI!

Well if we're predicting when we think people want it out by, I think everyone would love it if the game came out before the end of today.jpnuar1 wrote:I think everyone would love it if the game came out before the end of July.

QFG Webpage
Considering the game is relatively close to coming, is there anyone who has put together the webpage that will link us to the game?
Undoubtedly you will have a page that will highlight your triumph, so while we still have some time in waiting, perhaps now might be a good idea for someone to put something together so that when we are given the "okay", it can happen seemlessly.
