Ok, sorry. are they illegal, or is it just a rule? (sorry if this is like a banned question)

Downloading them elsewhere means that we can't ensure that the game files are free of viruses, spyware, trojans, or other malicious software.

Also, if people play the old versions, then they'll be less likely to play the new ones after they come out, which somewhat negates the extra work that has gone into them.

LOL! I don't think it's such a big deal, 123...

It just sounds like the AGDs have a plan for us... we just need to be patient.

Does AGDI want us to report illegal distribution of the games so you guys can try and get them to take it down?

If you want to email the site owners on behalf of us, mentioning the AGDI site is the only place where the remakes can be legally made available, feel free to do so. That'll have about the same effect as if we asked ourselves.

Otherwise, don't worry about reporting the links to us. It's too difficult to 'police' the entire internet for this kind of thing. If you're able to get some (or all) of them taken offline, then great. But if not, then all we'll ask is that the links are not posted here, and if people do download them elsewhere, please don't request technical support here, as we can't verify the integrity of those files.

Case in point, there was a guy who had unknowingly purchased a bootleg Russian version of Al Emmo which was released before the official Russian version. Whoever did the (very poor) translation job, simply hacked the English game font to use a Cyrillic character set instead. This caused the game to always crash at a certain point (apparently, it wasn't even finishable). The person who purchased the bootleg version subsequently contacted us for technical support and, for obvious reasons, we couldn't provide it, since the glitch was introduced by the pirates/hackers and was not native to the game. The same principal is true for versions of the King's Quest remakes downloaded from other sites. We don't want to waste any time chasing phantom bugs that may be a result of modifications/hacks.
