Would AGD2 post something in a newsletter that wasn't true? It seems these four languages are the only finished translations so far.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashu ...

Well I thought it would have more than four. I saw in the winsetups there is a language option does that mean Tierra is planing to have Kq2vga translated too. Well I am willing to it but I really need then the whole templates in this time. Hey when are we going to restart on the manuals and translating the Readme.txt ,next year perhaps or after two next months?

The language option in the setup is just something that's a part of AGS now. It doesn't imply anything. As for translating KQ2+, I already mentioned that it might not be a very good idea to allow people to translate KQ2+. Because of the large amount of wordplays, poems, eggs/references and sophisticated writing, it would actually take a professional writer to translate the game while doing it justice at the same time.

We'll be focussing on KQ1VGA 3.0 after the major bugs in KQ2+ have been ironed out.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

I'm a true-blooded French-Canadian, and although I've lost my vocabulary somewhat, I'd be happy to give you some input if you want it.

To whoever is making the Hebrew translations - I would be glad to help re-reading it. I know both Hebrew & English at translation level.

How do you do it? do you have to type everything in reverse?

That could very well be the only way to display it properly. Unless Chris can implement some feature to line things out on the right side.

<img src="http://httpd.chello.nl/c.vanempel/Nashs ...

Update on Russian Translation

#57 Post by Speratus » Sun Dec 22, 2002 8:21 am

I was just wondering if there has been an update with a Russian translation, and would like to offer my help again (I posted a few months ago) with whatever is necessary, such as proofreading, etc.

Oh, and if you need a full translation (current translator drops project, etc., which hopefully won't happen), I'm also available. Sorry for posting twice...

Russian translation is almost complete. I only need to re-read it and then I'll be ready to pass it to proofreaders.

Danish...

#63 Post by Sunray Jahh » Fri Dec 27, 2002 5:18 am

I know you already have some Danes who are translating, but I would like to help you... I'm good at Danish grammar and poetry, so I could easily translate into Danish. Or I could help the other Danish translator.

Whatever...

Just send me something... e-mail address removed at user's request

PS
I know you said, that a translating would ruin KQ2+, but I would like to give it a try...

The Swedish translation is finished for some time now, but I've tried to find someone to read it and make suggestions. No luck with that I'm afraid, I guess I have to make the final check myself.

I have some questions for Erpy though:

1) I have some trouble with the following four lines, could you please explain what they mean. I haven't found the first two in the game and the last two seem somewhat strange. Do I have to translate them?
This guy looks just like you. He obviously invested in the same gray-suit line.
You rub your hands up and down your clothes.
Imagine rat disappears
Death Message goes here.

2)
In the translation file under credits there is an "a", I don't recall seeing that in the game! What does that mean?

3)
I´m trying to find a good translation for the word scripting. Could you please explain the true meaning of the word in this context. (The credits) Does it mean writing the code in the AGS engine or writing a "script" for the game?

Thanks
//Mason

Those few lines (he obviously invested in the same suit line, you rub your hands up and down your clothes) are left over from the AGS Demo Game I. To anyone who's played it, the first appears when you look at the man outside the locked door, and the second appears when you click the hand on yourself. As far as I know, they never appear in KQ1VGA, and are also "dummy lines".

Hebrew again.

#71 Post by Vildern » Sat Dec 28, 2002 1:51 am

It seems that there is already someone that is working on translating the scripts to Hebrew. Since my Hebrew is almost faultlessly, and I'm a master in Hebrew, I wonder if it is OK for me to offer my help in re-reading the final scripts (those which will be translated)? Or are there already by now enough people to do so? Just offering some help.

Hi there!
I encountered some difficulty with some of the descriptions in King´s Quest 1.
I suspected that they might be related somehow to George Bush or something.
I ask all of you to help me. Of the following lines of description below, are there any that contain some sort of pun or reference?

Small bushes like this one thrive near the fresh lake water.

There's nothing interesting about this bush.

Pleasant little bushes grow around the spring-fed lake.

It feels like... a bush!

You've found a bush, but there isn't a quail in the game.

Interfering with this bush will not further your quest.

Some pretty flowering bushes grow in a bunch near the lake's edge.

Hey mason,
If you still need someone to read through your Swedish translation I'll be glad to help.

About the words in the control panel; how about "LADDA" and "SPARA"?
