What will be the max amount of money importable in QFG2?

#1 Post by Weaver1497 » Wed Jul 21, 2004 2:05 am

Meaning if I had 3000 silver pieces I would be able to have 300 Golds at the beginning? What if I had 3500 Silvers at the end of QFG1 would I then have 350 Golds?

Also If I dont import a character how many gold pieces does each character start the game with? Will it be the same as the EGA version?

Thanks for the info

I believe only gold coins are transferred across, not silver.

Erpy,

10 silvers is equal to one gold.

I also noticed that all the different classes start with 150 Gold at the beginning of the game.

The reason Im asking is because I have a ton of silver pieces from my QFG1VGA save and I would like to be able to carry them over.

Thanks for the info all.

There are really two issues: what is exported from QfG1 and what is imported to QfG2. AGDI only has control over the latter. I don't know if this distinction is actually important for the money in particular, but it could be.

Personally, I think limiting the amount of money you can start with is a very good thing. If you start out with enough money to buy everything you'll ever need, any future money is worthless. That was one of the big flaws in QfG3. On the first day, you can already buy all the special items. Any future money is good only for non-special items like daggers and potions (and those are then really expensive for the small amount of money you get from monsters).

I never noticed. I never payed attention to the money I exported and what was left of it.

for some reason money transfers much more accuratly from the ega version but seems to change to weird ammounts if u se a character from the remake.

MY hero didnt even get 300 even thou he had round 500 gold prior to recieving final reward. And none of the potions seem to transfer.

Out of curiousity, how the heck does anybody get 300 golds in QFG1 without cheating?

its very simple actualy, wnever spend gold always spend only silver which is rather easy to get by killing goblins. As long as u have silver u will spend silver.

Now u get quite a good portion of gold from comleting bulletin board quests. You also get some gold from 3 chest kobold troll and goon. Finaly in the ega version you get gold from selling cheetaur claws to healer I think. Either way its rather easy to get to 300 gold. I remember that geting to 400 in EGA was very hard, well rather long anyway. If i remember correctly silver was also imported but it was transformed to gold at rate of 100 to 1 rather then 10 to 1. Perhaps the lifting of the curse made trade flow and rendered silver less valuable or something. (Or maybe most of the brigand treasure was silver heh.)

Hmmm, let's see.

There's 200 golds to get by saving Barnard and Elsa. The rest of the gold is obtained by the starting 5 golds, the gold you get by selling mushrooms, the gold you get by getting the ring and the gold you get from looting the treasure of the ogre, kobold and troll. I don't think that's enough to make an extra 100 gold though, since part of the loot is silver as well. And all monsters carry silver. The healer pays 5 silvers for one cheetaur claw and I don't believe she pays in golds.

when u sell claws to healer in ega version the price is 5 silver, if u sell more then 1 claw you get gold. I.e. 5 claws u get 2 gold and 5 silver.

shroom glitch only applies to bga remake, on the other hand bga remake forces you to sell claws 1 by 1 hence u can only get silver for the claws.
