Yeah?

How is it coming along? Anything new and cool that can be shared with us, the general public?

I just got bit by the curiosity bug.

Not that I know of, but I'm working on a parody pic of it.
Does anyone have pics of all the elementals? I need them for my pic.

As for QFG2VGA...not much interesting to report. We DO have an interesting news update posted recently though, which is a nice read. (although not related to QFG2 in specific)

I don't quite remember seeing the fire elemental in that pose. Also, why can't I get to www.agdinteractive.com?

EDIT: I got in, but it is VERY slow.

EDIT: Can't get in again.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone asked about qfg2 again. :lol

There's some new QFG2 stuff coming up, but unfortunately, the release date is not something we have influence over, I'm afraid.

Very interesting read. :)

My brother brought home 2 games on his Nokia Engage yesterday. Was interesting to see KQ1 and KQ2 on it. :) Problem with it was the incredibly long typing!

We've thought about putting Hero6 on the mobile a year ago, but it would be
1) too huge
2) too difficult interface

Edit: Erpy, can you tell the guy who IS responsible to get his gat in rat!! :p

Gronagor, I don't think they know what get your gat in rat means. :lol

Is it loosely translated to "go to hell"? Seems like it...

Post subject:

Nope.

Kekataag, there might be a small possibility that Erpy would understand. We'll see... ;)

Not easy. Most dutchmen would just frown. But a little guess, does it mean "ass in gear"?

:\ I don't get it? What?
The games or Nokia Engage? What's wrong with the phone? Looks to me to be one of the best 'affordable' cellphones at this stage...

I'm sure it makes a pretty good phone, but as a gaming machine.... N-gage is the X-box of handhelds.

And which phone would you consider better for gameplay?

Any other phone, as long as it has Pac-man. :lol

Heh. :)

I take it you haven't read this part from AGD1...

Secondly, I spoke with several cell phone companies. I filled out some contact forms with select companies such as Nokia. I spoke with representatives from the different booths, and it seems that there is an interest in offering 2D adventures on cell phones. Cell phone technology is not quite advanced enough to allow people to play the newest 3D games - yet, the simplistic games that are offered on phones right now are not all that entertaining. Adventure games are a nice middle ground - the graphics and technology correspond well with the cell phone's capabilities, and most importantly, the games are fun!

I don't think 'any other phone' would be able to handle this kind of game. Although most of the new colour screen phones can, but also not all.

I would rather pee fire than play an adventure game on a phone.

It's a shame that PHONES have to spread the love of adventure gaming! Pssss! Oh well.

There's something not quite right with the world when we have to resort to cellphones to get a good adventure game fix again. Harharhar. I dunno, cellphone games don't do much for me. Screen's too small, buttons are too mashed together. Sound is annoying. I don't think Nokia's N-Gage (or whatever they're calling it these days) is selling well enough for any company to even consider making old Sierra-type adventure games (a game genre that hasn't been popular for ages) for it. The general population doesn't LIKE adventure games that much, and most people these days don't know or appreciate the true glory of games like King's Quest. And even if old adventure games are already available for phones, well, interface issues like the typing thing Gronagor talked about make them virtually unplayable. The computer was the best and only platform for adventure games, at least the ones made in the Sierra/Lucasarts style.

I think you guys are missing the point. AGD1 mentioned at the start of her 'letter' that she's doing all of this for her future career in game development. And cell-phone games are the 'in-thing' right now. I'm not sure about the US, but I know in Europe and even here in South Africa every kid has a cellphone and is downloading games and ringtones like mad!!

Motorolla and Nokia and others are willing to pay big bucks for Java games that would attract attention.

PS: Nokia engage can play most TV-games as well. You just need to download an application or two. You can play anything from tomb raider to the brand new Prince of Persia (which looks to be higher res than those we grew up with), flight simulators etc etc.

If the AGDs need to go there to promote their games... why would you want to stop them?

Don't forget Super Monkey Ball Jr. for that engage thingie. :)

On the Ngage topic, I saw a few weeks ago you can actually get games such as Red Faction for the Nokia Ngage. Red Faction is an old game yes, but for a cellphone to play a first person shooter of that quality it can easily play something such as KQ, QFG and SQ.

BTW, the general population loves adventure games, it's just that there are no more adventure games worth the time to play.
