I.A.G.E.
Hi, this is my first post on this forum, but I actually first found out about you guys about a week before KQ1VGA came out. Anyway, I was on the way to class and I was thinking about the Old School Gaming Expo they do in Oklahoma. My thoughts were, that a few years from now there should be an Independent adventure gaming expo. I.A.G.E.
It wouldn't work right now, because everyone's making adventure games for free, but like 4 years from now, if these companies go commercial but are still independent, a convention could be the best way to get publicity from the major gaming press.
It's just something I thought of, it wouldn't have to be big, just rent out a hotel reception hall for a day or two and everyone could meet and discuss all the stuff. You could have keynote speakers like Lori Cole or the Williams. It could be awesome.

Actuallly, by coincidence, it turns out that it happens tomorrow. At the Morriot Tulsa in Southern Hills, OK. Yeah, I'm in Michigan currently so I won't be there. The website is http://ivorytower.emuviews.com/okge/. Hope that helps someone get there. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome.[/url]

It was 12:10pm when I posted that. It's 2:20pm now.
The expo was pretty neat. Lot's of old console games. I think Atari ruled the day, but there was quite a bit of NES, SNES, and Sega stuff there as well. There were a lot of consoles set up so that you could play some of the games.
I looked through a bunch of the old NES and SNES games, which brought back lots of memories. They had a lot of games I used to have.
One table had a few old PC games. I picked one up for $1.00. Photo 1, Photo 2. The box wasn't sealed, but it is in very good condition.
I also found a copy of Loom in its box. I asked the guy how much he wanted for it, but he said it was only on display. Apparently the guy that did the soundtrack for Loom was supposed to come by later, and he had it out so that he could get it autographed.

Modern Day Book of Health and Hygiene
I'd hang on to that copy protection book, NavyNuke; for anyone who got the Sierra Originals CD version, the recipe for the third prescription was left out accidentally, making it impossible to finish the first chapter. That can be very helpful for anyone who's stuck...

Wow, navy, that's a find. Makes me wish I coulda been there. Oh well, there's always next year...
Seriously though, I think that in a few years the Independent Adventure Gaming Community world could pull off a small convention. A great place to meet, swap ideas, hock the original product that should be coming out by then, etc.
