Password at end of KQIV

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows what the password at the end of KQIV is for? I've always wondered, and I've tried using it when I started up a new game of KQ IV, and nothing ever happened. Is it something they intended to use later on? Just curious, so if anybody knows, fill me in

If I remember correctly I believe it was for a contest that was running when the game was originally released. The first to beat the game and send in the code won something, not sure what.

Oh, thanks. That would make sense, but I never considered that. It's driven me crazy forever, so thanks for clearing that up (I mean, they never mentioned it in any guides or anything).
