For all of the patient gamers and fans

#1 Post by NeoDraven » Mon Feb 25, 2008 2:27 am

This is a very difficult topic to post. I want to say so many things here, but, then, I really don't.

All I can say is this; basing my opinion on working with the beta build of this game so far (23 realtime hours in); every single second that you've all spent waiting for updates, news, information, screenshots, ANYTHING about this game, has absolutely been worth it.

I'm not revealing a single thing that I've seen so far, but I can safely tell you that AGDI and the makers of Al Emmo have spared us none of their talents from their previous freeware and commercial achievements.

We're getting closer, people. I just wanted to post this to tell all of you that, as a person that has waited 7 years, like the rest of you, for this game to be realized, I can now fully appreciate and understand why it's taken this long.

If you weren't stoked enough already, you SHOULD be.

Are you kidding?  I'm really looking forward to this.

Hey, AGD1 - trade you a copy of SQ2 Alpha for QFG2 beta!

It's definitely worth the wait!!!
They have spared nothing and have created a very detailed game.

Haha, Bt, although the proposal sounds like an attractive one, I think I'd be lynched by my team:)

Thanks for the offer though!! Can't wait to play your game, too:)

What's a good team without a good lynching, eh?  I know I'd get lynched too, but Klytos likes a good lynching so much, I just want to give him what he wants!

You know... this cross-team flirting annoys me. Just too weird.  :lol

Yeah, yeah. Blame it on Appartheid.  :p

There's just no way I'm flirting with BT. That's a sick sick joke.  ;)

Wha... never meant that. You're on the same team. Nothing wrong with flirting in your own team.  :lol

Meant the innuendo talk seen between AGD1 and Bt.  :p

Hahah!  Harmless inter-team banter, sir.  It's more like Spider-Man and The Green Goblin.

.... or Batman and Catwoman?  :)  (Or Poison Ivy)

Hmmm... will SQ2 be released before QfG2?

Well, I can't really say - as I have no idea about QFG2's schedule.  (Incidentally, I say "sked-yule" you say "shed-yule"!  Hah!)  But we've got some work in front of us - the game is looking mighty fine, if I do say so myself.

Well... with you knowing that QfG is a tough scripting task, and they just started with beta-testing, you should be able to make an estimate. Right?  :p

Actually I say sKed-yuLe with the k and l very prominent.  :p We're not lazy over here as most english-speakers seem to be with that 'soft' and 'silent' sounds.  :lol  Our sounds are said as if we're trying to break through a wooden door, or something.

Heh. As some english comedian said at the Queen's function last year, "South African accent sounds like ours, only played backwards and with a lot of static."

We have 17 sprite series, 4 backgrounds, about half of the asteroid music, a couple of things in the introduction, and a slew of bugs to go.

And the voice pack.

Well, there ya go!  Klytos with more solid figures.

Then after all that, you know, bug hunts.

I think QFG2 could come out before, but you never know.  Either way, I'm playing some awesome Sierra VGA-ness.

Let's see... 17 + 4 + 1/2 + 2 + ~ + 1 leaves you with something bigger than 24.5 things to do.

Sounds easier than the 300-500 things Erpy mentioned somewhere!  :lol

Can't wait to play it. :) Haven't played SQ2 for a VERY long time. :)

I didn't list the number of bugs though!!!!

I have fixed a single bug which took me five hours to locate. I ended up having to block all the code for two rooms and portions of the global script and unblocking it line by line until the bug happened again. Bugger bug-fixing QFG2 with all those multiple variables.

So... won't there be a QfI2?

I think QFI's refinement stage will give them plenty of opportunity to ponder that question long and thoroughly.

So if QFGII gets released first would you guys consider holding back on releasing SQ2 the same time just so you could have more of the limelight in your own time? Kinda like GTAIV and Halo3? Simmilarily would AGDI do the same? I suppose since they're free and both guranteed over a million downloads than it wouldn't matter but still interesting to think about.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to give gamers too much overload.  Then again, it's all about people having fun and nothing's more fun than two brand new "Sierra" games, eh?

Whats the third? Come on in "Manhunter New York Remake"!!!

The release of QFG2 has little to do with the release date of SQ2. I said little because, to be honest, if QFG2 is out first, SQ2 will slow to a crawl while I play QFG2.  :eek
