Regarding future projects...

Well currently you did 2 Sierra projects (KQ1 & KQ2) and are busy working on another Sierra adventure game (QFG).

But I was wondering, will you be doing other games by companies as well in the near future?

Cause a game which also could use a remake imho (golden oldie), would be:

Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders

Man, I remember that game from my childhood. One of the best games back then; original story, great gameplay and lotsa stuff to do and explore. Kept me hooked for days / weeks.

Of course this is just a suggestion, would be nice to see a remake done by your great people! :)

If AGDI did concentrate on a future game, it most defintely wouldn't be a Lucasarts game. And if I recall correctly, that game was remade by Lucasarts into 256 colors.

True, although that was only for the FM TOWNS console, a PC-based system that was only released in Japan.

Okay thanks....

How about (me thinks)....

A remake of The Black Cauldron?! Man I think that was the first (semi) point and click game I played. Was awesome...

I remember the annoying deaths I suffered, e.g. the castle wall? :P

Or how about that other less known Sierra Adventure? Codename Iceman? Hehe pretty cool.

I never actually played it back then... Unfortunately. :(

Man seeing this site and stuff, brings back old memories. I am 25 now, but I still remember playing the old Sierra games at a very very young age... ;)

/Edit

Or even Goldrush... Good old Sierra back then... :P

Black Cauldron belongs to Disney, not to Sierra, so that would be a no-go. The other two would require someone who'd know the respective game by heart. I can't say I ever played either one.

I thought Sierra created the game The Black Cauldron... Oh well, my mistake...

They did, but they were using a license bought from Disney to whom the rights to the game returned some time after TBC's release.

The Black Cauldron was a cool game. I liked the wall climbing aspects of it. I remember as a kid me and a friend both got it for christmas and used to spend time at each others houses taking turns trying to climb the cliffs, or walk across the winding walkway. We were so young we didn't have the coordiation to do it very easily and failed time and time again, but I remember it as being a fun challenge.

Frankly I'm surprised about how many people haven't played Gold Rush. Maybe it didn't sell well? It did have the best graphics of any AGI game (not sure if that was good for that time though, it was probably the first days of EGA), and I found it very interesting plot- and puzzle-wise. Maybe it's because it was a historical game rather than some kind of fiction? It's probably the most realistic (as in, close to what really happened those days) game by Sierra, and I can imagine people being more attracted to all the different 'Quests.

We used to play Goldrush at school, it was used to teach us stuff about stuff. It was cool.

Yeah. We've played LSL for the same purpose.  :p

Codename Iceman was nice, but too much simulator stuff which will require a submarine expert to be involved. (The original's simulator weren't that good either, but for it to be worth playing today it would need to be some fancy looking stuff.)

(It took me a few years to get past the first sequence... the CPR sequence. :) )

Trust me, it's not worth it. The game should be retitled "Murphy's Law" - anything and everything goes wrong and you have to double-check it, or you'll dead end half the game later (for instance, the guard doesn't return your id unless you ask, and you have to doublecheck it or it's the wrong one; the submarine is broken and you as the captain have to fix it; etc etc etc)

It can't be as bad has CoC was with the copy protection puzzles?

It had just about as many as CoC.

I like CoC - I think the historical story and research was great.  The Copy Protection stuff blows chunks, but other than that - a great game.

In my opinion both are tied for the worst-designed Sierra game ever. I mean, there's no accounting for matters of taste, like if you like the Coles' humor better than Al Lowe's, or whether Sonny is cooler than Gabriel - but this is just plain bad game design no matter how you put it. And yes, both games put a lot of thought into background, and could have been far far better.

I guess a CoC remake would be a nice choice, I found it a very nice game but the puzzles were crap.
