Yeah, I remember seeing a subject line similar to this one  (i shot myself (in the foot))

I'm sure the game is going very well, we just have to be patient.

In an effort to bring this topic back on topic, such as it is, I provide the following link to how to shoot yourself in the foot in various programming languages.

I almost shot myself in the foot a few weeks ago.  I went to gary, Indiana to help my dads friend drive his new(to him) Nova( P.O.S., lotsa work, top speed 75) up and we went to the sellars gun range(friend of this friend of me dads) and were shooting.  He had created an experimental clip for an SKS which holds 120 rounds.  The sheer weight of the clip was...well it was heavy. I was firing, and when I stopped, I couldn't get my finger out of the trigger guard quick enough and accidently squeezed off to rounds(due to the weight of the clip dragging the gun down) before I pulled my finger out of the guard.  The last shot hit about >6 inches from my left foot.

This is hilarious!  I'm going to send the link to the programmers at work.  My favourite is the Windows 95 one:  "Your gun is not compatible with this OS and you must buy an upgrade and install it before you can continue. Then you will be informed that you don't have enough memory."

What a great page! I love the one for LISP because it's so true. If you're not careful you'll recurse yourself to death. :lol

I loved the QFG4 narrator.

The QFG4 narrator bugged me. He was so darned dull that he managed to kill any joke he told.

Dull? John Rhys-Davies is a great actor, and one of the most acclaimed. He played Gimli in the Lord of the Rings movies. I thought he did a great job as the narrator.

Yes! All hail John Rhys-Davies. He made clicking on random things fun!

You know, when I read that last sentence, I had a funny picture of it going on his tombstone decades from now. :rollin

Anyway, I liked him as the narrator too, when I actually listened. On the longer messages, I usually finished reading way before he was done and just clicked through half of his speech. It was probably a good idea to do away with narrators for QG5.

I turn text off :p I love voices. Voices are good

I turned "the voice" off on my XP machine, because it kept skipping... or stuttering.  Sounded great on my 486.  I'm sure it would be fine using DosBox, just haven't played it on there yet.

I liked it too, thought it added to the game.... and the good thing is if you do not like it, you can easily turn it off.

John Rhys-Davies is a cool actor, has a cool voice and I like his jokes. I had some problems understanding him as Gimli unfortunately. :(

Anyway, usually I was way quicker reading than listening unfortunately. *sighs* Which is why when I learned that it was him the narrator I started to replay QfG4, intending to really listen to everything this time. Unfortunately, due to my having a faster comp now, the game kept crashing in the most unlikely of places all the time. And I really didn't feel like playing the whole game with Turbo or something else to slow down my comp... *sigh*

But I find it really great that he did read the narrator for this game. :) A pity he didn't read it for more games.

Hehe. Poor guy. Calling it the 'Game from Hell' etc. :) After how they overworked him, no wonder he didn't work on too many more games.

His role in WC3 was great as well. By far the best actor in the entire series.

Well hey, if you ever want to go back and play through QFG4, you should try using DosBox.  There are also timing/error fixes available.

I think the Subject and the title of the thread are totally not related

Cain A, I recently bought an air rifle. Load it, you have to break the barrel down, which charges it and locks the trigger. Well sir, wouldn't you know it, had a finger at the pivot location and locked the barrel with an extra digit in it!!! :rolleyes
