90% done hmm?  If you do the math that means it will take 4-5 months before the game is actually done.

Only if you assume the game creation has been progressing at a constant rate and will continue to do so.  This is not a valid assumption.

Heh. Adeyke, I see you've learned Erpy's PR skills. That's a typical 'No, you are wrong, but it could be more or less.'

At least we know now that it won't be 4-5 months. So... it is either less that 4 or more than 5. Cool! We don't have to bother visiting the site during March and April!  :p

Yep it will be exiting times soon enough! The group your referring to remaking KQ3 would be Infamous Adventures.

Okay, time for a new thread for the new update!!!

Update 23rd January 2006

Well, seeing as how this is probably about the last update before the game is released..

I think it would be cool to see an updated AGS Editor stats window on the QFG2VGA game page.  I might be wrong, but it seems the other picture is way off after all the coding that's been done over the last.. six months or so?  I'm interested to see just how big the game has become.. stat-wise ;)

Avatar, you do realize the beta-testers are for the Himalaya Studios project and not QfG2?? Right?

Hmm.. I didn't say anything about beta testers Gronagor!  The new update.. if you look beneath that big add for beta testers, there's a new update about QFG2!

I guess you could be saying that you don't think they're as far along on QFG2 as they are on the himalaya game?  Perhaps not..

I was just going off the fact that it's been over 4 months since their last update.. and surely QFG2 will be ready 4 months from now ;)

Now about that editor stats box.. Are there significant changes to the numbers since that older picture?

'Last update' that you mentioned would mean they're in Beta phase. :)

I expect two updates before the actual release. :)

Is Relight dead, by the way?  I just haven't seen him around in a while.

No, but he mentioned a while ago he got REALLY busy with real life. He isn't around much these days, not even in the private forums.

He's still forwarding me emails from people who are having forum problems though. The best way to get hold of him is via email. He still regularly checks it.

Awesome trailer. I see a lot of effort and attention to detail has gone in there. It also looks very true to the original. A QFG game is no simple task. I'm looking forward to it as if I have returned to childhood. Should be fun!

I was fooled into thinking that there was a new journal update until I recalled that 6/13 is actually tomorrow. Then I noticed that this sticky meant the 6/13/06 designer journal update and felt even more foolish. Woe betide me for trying to read the sticky.

Haha, and now you've fooled me. ;)

Another trailer would probably be a waste of time anyhow.

*scratched head* I don't understand what the whole fascination is with updates on the main site?

The bits and pieces we've been posting recently in the General forum are a lot more detailed and frequent than the main site updates have ever been.

Could it be that there's some kind of psychological quirk inherent in most people where they believe that updates on the main page (regardless of content quality) somehow bear more importance than an update given on the forums.  :lol

I suppose it's like that "love" ingredient when one is cooking. :)

While I agree with you there, and I remember this being told numerous times when people asked for update, the truth is that the only persons who'll read all of these little updates are the ones who actually read the general forum.

Anybody else who just check the website, or the forum to see if there is an official update, a really interesting thread or if the beta have begun yet will find nothing, and if someone wanted to read these updates, most of the updates made on the forum are hidden in plenty of mundane looking thread which is not really helping. :|

The short version is that people are lazy.  The updates though, are not located in an easily recognizable thread name.  I can't think off the top of my head where they've been posting them though.  I realized after about 2 and a half years of checking the main page that "Hey, wait, I should just sign up for the forums."  Now I regularly check them, and sometimes I even post.  Still eagerly anticipating this though.

It's exactly the same on my forums/website (and probably QuestStudios as well). People visit the website and not the forum, even though my forums have pretty much every detail months in advance of what makes it to the website (and most doesn't).
