Big Ad!

#1 Post by Skyshark » Sun Jul 24, 2005 9:58 pm

http://www.bigad.com.au/

This ad took some coordination to pull off smoothly, I can imagine! ;)

Edit: The 18+ rating refers to the advertisements being an ad for beer. :)

Explain the purpose of the link. I'm very wary about sights that require me to install software to see them. It screams virus to me.

The software in question is to run the video. It's a new ad that's just started screening here in Oz. I can assure you it is quite safe. :)

But if I can find an alternative link that doesn't require the software, I'll replace the one above.

Right.... pretty cool.

How much does the typical 'Extra' get paid these days?

I'm not too sure, but judging by the numbers, I reckon about a few million or so for all of them (flying them over, food and accomodation, etc.).

i wouldnt be too supprised if they used something like massive for this. it would be way cheaper doing it that way than to actually hire all those extras. The commercial was made by animal logic and i know they have used a few flocking simulators (not nearly as complex as massive) on matrix. So far though i dont think massive has been used outside of weta.

actually after doing some checking it seems there are only 300 real actors in this. the other 20,000 were computer generated.
