Hmmm.... come one guys. Be positive! Perhaps they decided to include some kind of surprise for us. With the pre-orders on Amazon they probably saw how popular the games still are and decided to add a new addition of their own!

(Ok... I guess we should be realistic as well...)

While it sounds nice, the realism is that Sierra but all the bonus stuff in the collections.  You have to realize back then video games rarely had any behind the scene videos or much marketing (commercials).  I haven't owned any of the Sierra anthologies but I'd be hard pressed Sierra intentionally left anything reasonable out of the collections.

Hey all-

Just thought I'd weigh in on this whole new collection rigamarole: according to Amazon, the street date for the XP compatible KQCol and others is now August 4th. Dare one think I should hold my breath and wait for an early birthday present? Call me a pessimist if ye must, but I'm just a mite leery, especially considering VU's past track record on this issue.  Anyone else have an opinion, especially considering that the supposed release date is so close?

My guess is that they'll send you two copies and bill you for both of them.

Hmm, you can never be too sure with big companies though.

Amazon never charges your credit card until it ships. I have bought from them many times.

By the by, as expected the release date has once again moved to December 31st 2006. *sigh* Vivendi wishes to torture us with mystery.

But it was already December 31st 2006 wasnt it?

No, this thread was about how they had been bumped up to August 4th, which was yesterday, and we were all excited that it might "possibly" come out then. How dumb to think that.

Well i guess if the kings quest collection isnt coming out thats the 2nd dissapointment for me as far as games go this year.

Let's wait and see for Dec 31st before crossing it off altogether. I still have faith in it. Call it intuition or whatever, but I feel differently about it this time. It seems to me that they would have just cancelled this long ago rather than push back the date all the time.

I still believe its coming out.

I have a conspiracy theory that thinks they're going to release the collections when AGDI releases QFG2 to cash in on the frenzy it whips up. That's the only reason for a dancing deadline like this that I can think of.

Well like i said its going to be the 2nd disapointment for me as far as games go meaning i aready had to deal with a game collection not being released does anyone here know of the megaman aniversery collection for gameboy advanced aka mega mania.

Yes, it would be quite a clash, considering Vivendi isn't releasing a QFG collection.  :p

That's the thing, though. People will just be looking for anything adventure-like again after that (I mean, after KQ1VGA came out 80,000 people went out and bought MOE suddenly) and so VU will be their to take their mon--I mean, uh, fill their needs.

Amazon usually says December 31st is the release date for an item when they simply haven't got a clue.
