Delays fro new KQ Collection
Got an email from Amazon today, looks like the KQ collection got pushed back to:
Updated Shipping Estimate: December 31, 2006

Kinda sad but when did a computer game ever come out on time?

Wow. What a freakin' surprise. Not! It's obvious what they're doing here. They're trying to stir up interest in this genre so they can make a quick buck off of it. It also gives them a valid reason to nail anyone who violates copyright. The whole thing is corprate BS! Until they actually start shipping these "collections", I wouldn't buy 'em.

They are either waiting for vista to come out, or they have something up their sleeves. I think they have something up their sleeves. I guess though, it could also be some kind of strategy. Waiting for the big games like dreamfall to come out and give a temporary boost to all things adventure, and then releasing the compilations. Eh, I got the original KQ compilation and it works just fine with dos box, they gotta do something impressive to make me want to get another one.
Hmmm, not an insider to the gaming industry in any way but isn't it likely that there is a more mundane reason to postpone the release?
If I were them I wouldn't release the games until there had been a great deal more promotion done for them. Thus far the only mention I have seen of them anywhere is here and on Amazon. I wouldn't imagine it would release until Amazon at least had box shots and Vivendi had it listed on their site.

I doubt that they're waiting for Vista. That'd take too much time (although it'd help build up excitement, supposedly). There's also the issue of XP compatibility. I highly doubt that they'll do anything to fix this except: put DosBox on the CD; put Turbo and MoSlo on the CD; put both of those on the CD; or do absolutely nothing.
