Hello everyone.
I'm wondering if anyone here can, and has, taken video of themselves playing any of the QfG games...
I'm asking because I want to show snippits of gameplay to them without giving them the games.

That certainly is a strange request. Unfortuanately, my camera's broken.
What exactly do you need this for?

To show friends that live a long distance away what Quest for Glory is all about, and how different it is from what most would consider an RPG

DOSBox will record AVI files of gameplay internally. Use that and record your own.
Heh, one time my dad hooked up our old Tandy 1000 up to a VCR and recorded gameplay footage of KQ5EGA. That was cool.

You can't record things on a computer screen anyway I don't think. Becuase the camera catches the screen refreshing every few frames. So you get a black blur going down the screen as it refreshes.

Considering ChaosBurnFlame's second post, I think he wants to show only the game itself (not anyone playing it), for which MusicallyInspired's solution seems ideal. (And until today, I didn't know DOSBox could do that. Thanks MI!)
Also, why not show off the AGDI's preview video?

You can use HyperCam to put anything that's windowed on a video.

Why not just record it on your mobile phone?
