Does both of the quest for glory collections (collection and anthology) contain the vga version of quest for glory 1?

I believe they both include the EGA version as well, Something they neglected to do in the re-release of the other series'.

Who knows; they may do the same if they release a "Vista-compatible" QfG Collection - they'll drop QfG1EGA and maybe even use AGDI's QfG2.

Unless, of course, they put it on a DVD like a lot of new titles that come out.

they wont do it because they can't include patches and they know that even with DosBox 1VGA and 4 are impossible to beat.

Completely incorrect.  You, sir, have officially lost the right to your handle.  Admins, please rename him to "Quest for Glory Failure." :p

not literally impossible but they still have great potential to be buggy as hell especially if you touch the cycles.

Umm....  I have played (and beaten) QFG 4 CD in DOSbox without much difficulty.  I got an occasional crash, but I learned that if I kept my sessions to about an hour and then restarted DOSbox, my crashes went away.  Had to do the same with QFG3.  Haven't tried 1VGA via DOSbox as I prefer the classic EGA.  I _have_ played it via straight XP, and once the patches were applied, there was no problem.

Bugginess

1. So don't change the cycles (though the newest versions of DOSbox don't describe its running with cycles, but with percentages).

2.  Use the patches and the vast majority of bugs go bye-bye.

3. As Muadeeb said, with the patches, the games can even be run straight without DOSbox.

4.  I repeat, your recent statements conflict with your handle; "fan" is obviously incorrect. :p

But what I was saying was if they were to be VU released they wouldn't put the patches in as they didn't to the other series and on some computers IE mine the series would be unplayable. Gamers would be frustrated if they had to scower the internet on the reason the game crashes whenever they slid down a hill and thus hate VU more than they already undoubtedly do.

Example in point, I'm well aware of the fact that some of these games need patches but I figured XP compatible what a deal, so I fired up the SQ series and when I got to the 4th (or was it 5th) game I had it crash on me. Remembering NRS patches I put one in and had to start the game all over as my file was corrupt. I believe I made a post here about it being thwarted by a bug older than I am... hmm if that statement is true then I must have been playing (looks through copyright Dates) either PQ2, SQ 2, or SQ 3. Regardless I remember being theroughly annoyed at the re releases already made and to me it doesn't matter if they make a 3rd compilation of QFG as I already have 2.
