Do you remember the tree in the KQ5 forest?..........

#1 Post by shivrani » Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:42 pm

Hi there!

Just thought I'd share this with you - I used to play KQ5 a LOT with my brother, it's been our favourite game for years. I thought it would be a nice birthday present to make a paper mache tree, just like the one in the forest of the evil witch...this is the outcome. What do you think?I have never made anything with paper mache before! LOL

The little door opens as well and I have put a golden heart in it too  :)

and this is the tree I am on about:

I would say you did a pretty good job of replicating it.  :D  Very nice!

Well done!

Strange. I barely remember this scene.

Thank you all for your nice feedback! :)

I just can't wait to see the look on my brother's face when I give it to him!    :D

Wow! Nice! Would be the perfect gift, it sounds like. And from one of the most  memorable areas of the game, too!

Yeah, yeah. Ok. Can't help that I tend to forget the important stuff.

Hmmm... can't remember... why isn't Cedric in that scene?

He was too afraid to enter the dark forest. He's not with you the entire time until you find your way out.

Cedric's too chicken (or too smart) to enter any of the more dangerous areas in the game. The dark forest is one of those.

Hah! Beat you!

Heh maybe that's why it's so memorable, though. Because Cedric's not there. :p

Yes, the lack of the owl is refreshing, but for me, memorable triggers are more often than not auditory.  The music briefly changes when you get the golden heart.

I think it was the first screen the witch ever appeared on for me as well (and that's another music change right there, too).

Yes, the forest themes rule.

I remember this scene from when I was.. god was I only 5 years old? Cripes I'm little. I remember I used to play KQ5 on my dads computer in his office and whenever the witch came I hid under the desk and tried to hit restore without looking. The look on Frog Grahams face was terrifying. About 6 months ago now I replayed and beat that game for the first time. When I got to those scenes I solved it without so much as seeing the hag... kinda dissapointing. Replaying these games makes me feel like a retarted little kid
