"The Big Lebowski", a 1998 film written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen.  Starring Jeff Bridges as "The Dude".

Now, most people don't think about it, but "The Big Lebowski" is not "The Dude" but Mr. Lebowski, the embezzling philanthropist played by David Huddleston.

wow BT, that's quite impressive. I thought it was a 1997 film but you beat me on that mark. Quite a shame seeing as how I own 3 copies of the film (legitimately)

I'm a big fan of the Coen's movies, and The Big Lebowski is a personal favorite.

I love the edited for television version, only because it's so weird.

:lol  I never knew there was a tv version, I'm also a coen brothers' fan and my personal favorite is fargo with TBL being one of those date requirement films "If you don't find this funny I'm finding someone else". Even now I thougt No country for Old men was a real achievement.

Yeah, it's edited for TV in the states (on non pay stations.  On, like, HBO, it's unedited.)

They change some of the lines to hillarious "clean" dubs.

Click here for a YouTube video of the clean edits

And here's some of the edits!  (Warning, language)
Original Line: They peed on my fucking rug.
TV Version: They peed on my valued rug.

Original Line: This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass!
TV Version: This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps and feed him scrambled eggs! (huh?)

Original Line: I'll suck your cock for $1000.
TV Version: I'll slurp your Coke for $1000.

Original Line: If you don't like my fucking music, get your own fucking cab. Outta my fucking cab!
TV Version: If you don't like my peaceful music, get your own cab. Outta my peaceful cab!

Original Line: Tomorrow we come back, and we cut off your johnson!
TV Version: Tomorrow we come back, and we cut off your toes!

Original Line: Are you ready to be fucked, man?
TV Version: Are you ready to be plucked, man?
