Error when trying to run QFG Anthology cd...

So I just got out my old QFG Anthology cd to play through QFG1 in anticipation of the forthcoming release of the new game! Except it doesn't work.. I got this message: "C:\windows\system32\config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose Close to terminate the application."

Help? I have Windows XP.. if any of the other specs are relevant, let me know...

Thanks!

Are you trying to install stuff? You shouldn't...those installation batch files/installers aren't very reliable on today's machines. Just copy the files of the corresponding game to a folder on your hard drive.

Ok, well forgive me for being a moron... but it's still not working. Once I have all of the files copied into their own folder on the computer, how do I make it work now? I just get the same message when I try to run the program...

Are you using DOSbox?

The answer is "no"... mainly because I don't know what DOSbox is. So if I find/download DOSbox.. it'll work?

By the way, thanks again guys.. you're incredibly helpful!

DOSbox.

Basically, it's a DOS emulator. Presuming you have sufficient experience with that old operating system, you can get the old QfG games running reasonably easy.
