My mother has the theory that most girl's names came from soap operas, so maybe there was an Amber in one of those thirty years ago, and that's why there are so many Ambers now. :p

I take it some further complication arose since your daughter was delivered before 36 weeks. At least everyone's doing okay. Congratulations to you and your wife, Navy.

Sounds like it's been a touch-and-go situation for all involved! Bet you're both glad that things have settled down a little now after that hectic roller coaster ride. Good luck settling into normalcy again soon with one more addition to the family. Congrats, Sean!

I'm glad everyone's doing so well! And 7 pounds at 5 weeks early? Wow! At least there weren't any more complications. Both my kids were delivered by C-section so I know what that's like in itself, but with the premature birth and your wife's condition it must have been that much harder on you. I'm just glad everything worked out. Congrats, you guys. And hopefully it's all smooth(er) sailing from here on in! (no pun intended!)

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys!

Amber is up and walking around today. She's still extremely sore, but she's improving. Ashlen was taken off oxygen support this morning and seems to be doing well. She still has an IV and will stay on that until she is eating well enough that they don't have to supplement. She's also got a feeding tube that they are using to supplement and also to determine how well she's digesting. I told my wife that my baby had more cords than my computer!

Here's some pictures. I've got some pictures that were taken during the C-Section that I want to show, but might be considered graphic, so I'll wait until I can upload them somewhere else. That way I can provide a link and those with weak stomaches won't have to see them. ;)

Oh! The baby is so cute, and has opened her eyes for the photo! How lucky! :D
