David Letterman of the Tonight Show seriously ill

Word has it that the reason the Tonight Show is re-run episodes nearly always is Mr Letterman is having serious complications from his quad bypass surgery 9 years ago. Since this past Christmas, the show is in its second round of re-runs due to Letterman's illness.

I wish him well, but I never found him to be that funny. His band leader is the most charming recurring personality on his show, and he only offers highly contemporary extemporaneous contributions to the show.
Leno is talented. MAD TV after the 2nd season blew goat nuts.
SNL just hasn't been the same since Eddie Murphy's days. It's been worse.
