New Christy Marx video interview

#1 Post by pbpb33 » Fri Feb 26, 2010 1:33 am

Award-winning game designer and writer Christy Marx (designed the Sierra titles "Conquests of Camelot" and "Conquests of the Longbow", and was preparing to design a Greek mythology-based adventure game for Sierra when the company was sold and change its focus away from in-house adventure game production) is interviewed here for the "Jem and the Holograms" DVD. (Christy Marx created the smash 1980's Hasbro animated series Jem, which was supposed to have been aimed primarily at girls, but, thanks to Christy Marx's talent for action writing and her ability to successfully mix action with the more soap opera elements, the show reportedly ended up being equally popular among boys .) In the interview she talks about her background as a successful female writer in the male-dominated world of action and comic writing, and I thought some fans of her games might be interested to see this:

That's pretty cool, it's a shame the game never got made, it sounds like a great idea.

Yeah, her website is http://www.christymarx.com and her public blog is http://christymarx.livejournal.com (she can sometimes get kind of political on it, but at least her writing is always thoughtful and worth the time). Apparently she's very gracious and appreciative when her fans write her.
