Dispel Potion and Brigand Leader VGA

Eveerytime I try to use a Dispel Potion on the Final Boss it says that I threw the potion away instead of using it on the leader. What did I do wrong?
If you click the dispel potion ON the brigand leader, your character should throw it at him. If he is throwing it somewhere else, it means you aren't clicking on the leader himself.
If you're playing the original EGA parser version, type "throw potion at brigand leader".
