It starts with the meeting of two failures.
They next bring about two who they thought others would admire.
But ending wrong THIS had to pay dearly.

What is it?

The meeting to two failures? Is that a typo?

Also, could you have asked for an answer to this same riddle six months ago?

Yes, there's a typo. It should be OF two failures. However, it could have been asked at any time.

Haha, that's a great answer. If that's not considered a right answer, it should be.

Amusing :p

However, as you said, it was false.

As for hints, the answer refers to something that was around since well before modern civilization.

It's something that's around today and will probably remain for a very long time.

There is a hidden word in the words.

Hmm, is it mankind or family? Something about Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel?

Techincally, you have the answer. But, to go one step further, you have to explain your reasoning. See if you could find the real clues.

Yay! Well, I don't know if I have any good reasoning. I was just thinking that Adam and Eve failed because they did not trust God and because they gave in to temptation. Cain and Abel were two of their children, and Cain ended up killing Abel for some reason. So, that ended badly. And mankind suffers because we lost the Paradise when Adam and Eve gave in to temptation? So, that is why I think the answer is mankind. But didn't mankind already have to pay a price for Adam and Eve's mistake before Abel's murder? That is why I feel like I might be missing something here. At first I thought the answer was "family," because I thought I saw all of the letters that make up that word in the original riddle. But that is about as close as I got to finding clues in the words. What am I missing? I feel like my reasoning is not very sound nor what you were looking for.

Very interesting reasoning. The actual answer, however is: FAMILY.

It STARTS with the meeting of TWO FAilures.
They NEXT bring about TWO who they thought others would adMIre.
But ENDING wrong this had to pay dearLY.
