There wasn't technology like there is today. No phones, TV (although TV in the 1940's was just making it's debut), etc. 1940s had better technology, but then there was the whole war thing. I guess it would depend on where it would put you in the 1940s. If he means in the middle of Nazi Germany, then I would have to go with the 1600s, myself.

Okay...certainly continue on with Klitos' question, but allow me to ask another:

You are standing in an art gallery, staring at two paintings. The other is of a serene forest with the sun lighting up the cloudless blue sky, and the reflection of a snow-capped mountain shining off the waters of a crystal-clear lake. With the information given, I'd probably take the metropolis too. But if choosing the city over the lake meant I had to give up on something or someone very dear to me, I'd take the lake any day.
Pidgeot
-----
Every error you find is the last one.

Idtake the lake, I love nature and I find it very beautiful and carm, its probably because Im very artistic and love drawing scenes which is why I find it so beautiful. I live practically in a city (Newcastle) And I love escaping to the country or somewhere once and awhile its just so different and gorgeous.

"I'm an angel, honest! The lake, no question. Every time I visit the city I remember what I love so much about living in the countryside: less noise and more green. As far as I'm concerned, cities are nice places to visit but I'd never want to live in one.

Man, lots of stuff to answer.

I really couldn't say which week in my life I'd like to relive. If I were still in high school, I'd tell you right away, but in my current state of life, amazing things are happening to me all the time, I'm growing and changing and just living life to its fullest every day, so I really can't even begin to fathom what day in my life is the best out of them all. I guess I'm just too happy with life...

I would want to fly, 100 percent. That's my number 1 wish in life, y'know (the number 2 being getting to play Superman on film and the number 3 being true love). On those days where the air is crisp, the sun in shining brightly, and there isn't a cloud in the sky, when the day is absolutely perfect, I just want to leap into the air and fly way above it all, exhilirating. If I could fly, I think that's when I'd truly begin to live.

I want to live in the 1940s. The 1600s had a ridiculous odor that I never want to experience. Also, the 1940s had such a good style to it, I'd definitely love to be there.

Bring on the metropolis! I absolutely love the country, it's such a nice and peaceful place to be, but there's just so much to do and see and be around in a metropolis! That's why Space Quest kicks so much arse, it's because they've got sprawling metropolises in their games. Good stuff!

Also, Vamp, women may seem that simple to you, but believe me, your species just might as well be a foreign culture to us with no way of making contact save guesswork, which we do a lot of. Still, I think that's part of the fun; what fun would it be if you just had a formula for a woman to go out with you? There's gotta be a little excitement!
-----------------------
CrisS

Well I moved back to Austin to try to make a living
But it ain't been so easy with those hill country women
And i'm stuck inside of this 8x12 room
And my throat's a scratchin' from the cigarettes and booze...

Be a Hero.

If I were to ever join the army, I'd join up as a medic. My grandfather was a renowned doctor and my uncle is also a renowned doctor, so THAT's in my blood.
