Well it seems Nicloe Kidman may not be in the Narnia movie. <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://news.ninemsn.com.au/Entertainmen ... <!--EZCODE LINK END--> <p>The Knight<br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://www.eternal-anubis.com/Images/Aragornsig.jpg" style="border:0;"/><!--EZCODE IMAGE END--><br><br>"I see in your eyes, the same fear that would take the heart of me.<br>A day may come when the courage of men fails.<br>When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship but it is not this day.<br>This day we fight!"</p><i></i>

Wow. Nice boxset. That version must be ordered chronologically by what happens in Narnia rather than publication. The version order I knew was based on original date of publication.<br><br>The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - 1950<br>Prince Caspian - 1951<br>The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - 1952<br>The Silver Chair - 1953<br>The Horse and His Boy - 1954<br>The Magician's Nephew - 1955<br>The Last Battle - 1956<br><br>I guess both orders are valid, huh? <p></p><i></i>

After the books had been written C.S. Lewis suggested that the books be read in chronological order. So now the books are arranged chronologically. The books I have were before the number change. <p>The Knight<br><!--EZCODE IMAGE START--><img src="http://www.eternal-anubis.com/Images/Aragornsig.jpg" style="border:0;"/><!--EZCODE IMAGE END--><br><br>"I see in your eyes, the same fear that would take the heart of me.<br>A day may come when the courage of men fails.<br>When we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship but it is not this day.<br>This day we fight!"</p><i></i>

This thread reminded me that I love those Narnia stories, and being basically a lazy bugger, I went and bought Voyage of the Dawntreder and Prince Caspian, a double DVD set. <p><!--EZCODE CENTER START--><div style="text-align:center"><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>He is more than even he knows himself to be. BBC Productions from the early 90's. They were quite good. I think they made, all of them except "The Horse and His Boy", "The Last Battle" and "Magicians Nephew" which happen to be my favorite three. <p><!--EZCODE CENTER START--><div style="text-align:center"><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>He is more than even he knows himself to be. Ooh, can I bump this? Heh.<br><br>Turns out Starship Troopers 2 will be direct-to-video. An article about it in the newest issue of Cinefex that came out this week. It was made on only $7 million and if the original was a "war" movie, this one is a "horror" movie. Hmm.<br><br>And I've just learnt about the new Final Fantasy move, FF VII: Advent Children. Having never played or know much about the game FF VII, I find it interesting that they chose to make a sequel to the game as their next movie, and also that again, this will be a direct-to-video release. Well, the trailer looks pretty cool. <p></p><i>Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub57.ezboard.com/broyalquestfor ... Relight</A> at: 3/25/04 2:50 am<br></i>

I don't think that 7 needs a sequel.<br>Even though it was the 2nd best game in the series, it still completed its story, and needs no addition.<br>FF8, which ended right in the middle, NEEDS a sequel.<br>FF7 has very little to do in terms of storyline, mostly just cleaning up after holy/meteor and Cloud's search for Areis.<br>FF8 has a HUGE time paradox thingy which could turn into a potential story gold mine. Squall & crew go back to the present, and find everything different. I admit that this is winding down, but FF7 was winding down after the destruction of Shin-Ra.<br><br>I believe 7 is the 2nd best game in the series, because its characters were not as good as FF6's 14 well-developed characters. <p></p><i></i>

Inspired by this thread last week I started to read the Chronicles of Narnia again!!

I've read The Magicians Nephew, Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe and have just finished A Horse and his Boy which btw I had forgotten how good it was, it is totally my fave book in the series!

Its really good aswell how Aravis marries Shasta/Cor in the future!

Gonna start reading Prince Caspien tonight when I go to bed!!

I hope they make films of all the books that would be so cool!!

Narniansinceage7 here. Angelus, I agree with you; all 7 books should be made into movies; after all, if they intend to make 7 Harry Potter films, why not 7 Narnia films too?!

I hope you and Vamp both enjoy the stories, just don't spoil them for her. Also, I remember how much I loved reading those books as a child, so in about eight years, be sure and introduce your child to the world of Narnia. I'm sure the kid will enjoy them just as much.

I agree with Brainiac - I think children should be introduced to the true joy of reading with the Narnia series - even more then with Harry Potter! I have both and, hands down, Narnia is still the best!

Re: the making of Red Dwarf and Hitch Hiker's Guide into movies - more power to them - I just hope they can come close to the orignial BBC TV productions! I would hate to see any of these remakes/sequals wind up like Matrix 3 :x

Well after unfortunatly leaving The Silver Chair for a few months I picked it back and have just finished The Last Battle!

I'd forgotten what a strange ending it has I guess C.S. Lewis wanted to leave what happens to them upto the reader.

I find it a bit strange that:
Peter, Edmond, Lucy, Jill, Eustace and their parents are now in Narnia forever as they died in the train accident but that would mean that Susan would be left alone in the world with her whole family dead!!
The Chronicles of Narnia are without a doubt the best books ever written (in my opinon) I hope the movies do them justice!

BTW Klitos are those BBC TV Movies any good?? (You REALLY should read the books though lol!)

I thought the BBC movies were good, though the special effects could be a lot better. ;)

And The Lord of the Rings are the best books ever written.

As to the first, I agree; the BBC movies were quite true to the books but visually lacking (though not that badly for a TV movie)

As to the second, I agree again (sort of); The Lord of the Rings novels are the best FANTASY books ever written.
