I don't think VI is that long, but that's probably because I'm a perfectionist and I try to do everything in a game; as a result, 100+ hour games are normal for me. 8o

Does that also apply to the NES FF3 as well?

It does as far as I'm concerned.

And FFVI really isn't that long. It can be done in well under 20 hours provided, of course, that you don't make your party godlike. And in reality, all you need is one or two godlike characters (which doesn't take that long) and the rest of the game will be a cinch.

I've never actually played FF3. Nor have I played 2 (although I watched my wife play all the way through FF2).
Of course, finding time to play through 3 will be..interesting

Anybody heard any news on XII? I don't wanna play XI online, I just wanna play a regular old one, hopefully as good as VII and X.

Final Fantasy XII sites

As Adol said, RPGamer is always good for news; I'd check out RPGFan as well. There's also the Official FF12 site if you can read katakana... :D

The basic synopsis of my knowledge is that six characters have been announced (Vaan, Ashe, Pannelo, Basch, Balflear, and Fran), the game will be set in the world of Ivalice from the Tactics series (most likely Tactics Advance, not the original), and that the style of the game will be similar to the .hack series (feels like an offline MMORPG).

Sequel

#84 Post by Brainiac » Wed Jul 21, 2004 4:40 pm

Oh, yeah, the potential Vincent game. It could be interesting. Woul they go with a prequel from back when he was a Turk or another sequel like Advent Children?

i'd say a sequel would be more interesting and isn't advent children just a remake of all the best videos from seven yet super-me-fied? my friend says it'll only be around an hour long. any news?

Y'know, its funny. Every time I play FF6, when I'm doing Sabin's scenario and reach the Veldt, I tell my self: Stock up on items, or you won't survive Kefka's army. So I try to stock up, but somehow I always end up just managing to survive. THIS time though, I'm stocking up on everything. Potions, Phoenix Downs, you name it, I'll have it.
