Ooooh Bt!!! Forget KQ3! You guys SO need to do a remake of Conquests of Camelot!! I'm sure most people would agree that that was one of the best sierra games ever made and I'm sure if you made it tons of people would want to buy it for ya...
...Well...I'm sure they would buy it if you weren't required by law to give it away for free (stupid copyrights )
But anyway, I certainly hope you consider starting a project on that as well,
you've already got the one background, how hard could a few dozen more be? And some scripting, and some coding, and sprite making and....
P.S. and in order to make Navy and Erpy's life a litte bit easier, I promise to never make another wormhole again, unless I have a really good reason.

Yeah. Heh. Only Two games at a time, I mean, TofA is really Btails project, though.
But I would love to do a Conquests of Camelot Remake sometime in the future. It's one of my favorites.
That picture is really just an SCI screen, smoothed and texturized.... a little more work and it could be ready. Heh.

It means he can't take pay from work that is Sierra-derivative. In other words, he was grumbling about the fact that these hard-working people (like the AGDs) can't get paid for the amazing service they're providing because it would be too flagrant of a violation. He's just railing against the injustice of it all. While VU doesn't lose a dime one way or the other because these products aren't active, people like the AGDs devote a lot of time, money, and energy into creating these works of art and get nothing but their own satisfaction from it.

This statement implies that making the game is legal, so long as the creator does not charge money for it. Erpy was simply pointing out that lawfully, you aren't even supposed to make these games.Senor Matt wrote:...Well...I'm sure they would buy it if you weren't required by law to give it away for free (stupid copyrights )

Actually, I was simply saying that while it is illegal to remake these games with or without charging for it. Not charging pushes it far enough into the gray area that they (probably) won't hear from any lawyers. But it's still a shame that they don't get any monetery compensation for all their months and months of hard work and effort.
Basically I wasn't saying anything that hadn't been said before many times on these forums.
So obviously he was meaning what I was saying and Erpy's just being a hard-arse, so neener-neener.
Sure, satisfaction is all well and good, and I'm sure making these games have literally changed their lives. But it would be good if we could find some way to pay them for it. Then again, I totally agree that things would've been a LOT different if money were involved. That's probably why the legal for sale remakes didn't really take off. Not only was it during the Golden Age of adventure gaming, you had to pay money for it. Who wants to pay tons of $$$ for a game you essentially already own when you can grab a similar game that you don't own for the same price? Nowadays, these things are like diamonds. If you find one, you're willing to pay whatever they ask for these things.
