I dunno. I just use hotmail. No matter how many E-mails I've blocked, spam just keeps coming. :o

The only way to avoid EVER seeing spam, is not having an e-mail address.

A good spamfilter might help, but there's almost bound to be some it doesn't catch.

Of course, you could also make a filter that tells your client to only accept e-mails from certain addresses - but if someone changes ther e-mail address, they can't notify you from their new address.

By the way, daventry - you do realize you can right-click your Deleted Items folder and empty it that way?

The problem now is spam that comes from abcdjejdjs@jfdjfdododo.com and they change just random letters every time, just like that. Of course you know you can make your email 'appear' to come from any email address you think up, even if it's not real, so it's basically impossible to block these spam mails on systems such as Hotmail that block specific emails or specific domain names (of course, they'll end up in your junk mail, but in theory you want to avoid them there altogether).

hotmail is working perfectly alone for me but just think if i HAD spam and did everything they said i would have the lowest house mortgage best cell phone AND the biggest penis on the internet.....ahh that would be....hell? either way it's probably bad.

which reminds me of something i saw in a pizza place.
In life there are only two things to worry about, whether you are healthy or sick. If you are healthy then there is nothing to worry about. If you are sick then you have two things to worry about. whether you will get better or whether you will die. If you get better then there's nothing to worry about. If you die you've got two things to worry about. whether you will go to heaven or hell. If you go to heaven you have nothing to worry about but if you got to hell then you'll be to busy shaking hands with old friends to be worried about anything.

Ummm... I don't quite get the relevance to the topic, QFG Fan. Either stay on topic, or post in the Random Rants thread (which has no topic).

I'd never heard that 'things to worry about' thing before. I quite like it.

On topic, I've been using elitemail.org for a while and never once got a spam email, even though I've signed up for things using the email.

Maybe you could get a free hotmail address and use that for signing up only so that you don't have to use your regular address to sign up? That's pretty much what I do.

The SPAM Guard on Yahoo! Mail is great 99% of SPAM goes straight to the junk folder!

And I like how Incredimail (or any other email client) lets you bounce SPAM back!!

I never use the junk filter on MSN, sure it sends the "Enlarge your Penis" spam to the junk mail, but it sends important ones aswell. I used to check the junk mail folder frequently to check for emails, I got about 5 important ones a day asking about Quest for Infamy and other important stuff.

For some reason my dad doesn't like Incredimail and never uses it, I for one for it was great and I could actually get my hotmail address working on it perfectly. Not like Outlook Express.

My spamfilter on hotmail works pretty well most of the time.

Though Anathoths e-mails were being delivered into my junkmailfolder for absolutely no reason.

The filter on my hotmail account usually recognizes all people as spammers, when they write to me for the first time. I have to manually add them to my safe list :|

Oh, I was just being silly. I've said "This (insert whatever here) sucks" all day! Heh.

Spam does suck. but my YAHOO account filters it pretty well.

Y'all could use software with spam filters - such as Mozilla Thunderbird (new version out yesterday).

Requires some training, but should certainly get over 90% accuracy within a week.

Sorry, it's the only free one I know of - I used to know about another but forgot its name.
