QFG1 Question

#1 Post by Weazel » Sat Aug 07, 2004 9:59 pm

Hello, I got stuck in Yorick's room (In the Brigand area) in QFGI was hoping someone might know how to help me.

There's supposed to be a chain on the left side that when pulled, it opens the door on the top right side. The problem lies in that when I pull the chain, the door opens, then immediately closes before I have any time to react. However, the door does stay open if I first turn down the speed, but even then with the open door, it doesn't actaully let me through the door (Purhaps as if it were closed).

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help.

Your computer is too fast. Have you ever tried to fight the weapons master? If you have, you probably noticed his crazy speed. You need to find a slow-down utility like Turbo, or Dosbox. Heres a link to Dosbox:

It's a timer error indeed. Your computer is too fast. This page has patches to fix the problem, but you'll need a savegame before entering the fun house, or the fix won't work.

I think the best way to solve this problem is to

1) Get AGS - www.agsforums.com
2) Extract all the Resources from QFG1
3) Remake the Game

Yorricks maze should be NO problem then! :D

I notice BT's homemade QFG1-remake screenshot hasn't been posted in this thread yet. Could this remark be an excuse to repost it yet another time?

Oh, no, I don't think I would do that this time.

You know BT, I really HATE that screenshot. I think I want to remake it. I'm gonna call my project a remake of BT's remake of Hero's Quest. So I'll call it Hero's Quest +1+.

Anybody want to join my team? :p
